Kerniger, dunkel hopfiger Beginn. Angenehme und weiche Herbe, getreidig-würzig, leicht ansteigende Aromatik. Der Hopfen wird etwas klebrig, die Herbe intensiver, mittellanger Abgang, süffig. 9/9/9/9/8/9

Die Firma Felber ist eine Bäckereikette, die besonders in Wien an vieln Standorten anzutreffen ist. Dort bekommt auch dieses Bier -bei mir war es in der Filiale am Haubtbahnhof Wien.
Zuerst dachte ich, dass es sich um ein Brotbier aus altem Brot handelt wie es schon andere Brauer in Kooperation mit Bäckereien machen (z.B.: Gusswerk mit Interspar oder Bierol mit Therese Mölk), aber dies ist ein Wiener Lager, das einfach gut zu Brot passen soll.
Das fand ich schon mal enttäuschend. Geschmacklich hat es nicht die brotbier-eigenen salzigen Schwarzbrotaromen, aber sonst gibt es nicht so viel her. Es hat eine ordentliche Hopfenbittere, die nicht schlecht komponiert ist, aber für ein Top-Bier ist es mir ein bisschen zu plump-bittter und weiters fehlt es mir an Harmonie

0,33l bottle at home shared by a friend. brown color, small tan head. smells apple, pears, marzipan, nutty, barrel, subtle boozy notes. nice to very nice smell. full body, subtle carbonation. tastes apple, pears, marzipan, nutty, bit boozy, schnapsy, glueish. finishes bit boozy with notes of schnaps, marzipan and pear notes. decent one, rather boozy though, not the most exciting balance. rather drinkable.

Can (presumably from Garching (?)): Deep golden, cloudy, bigger and slowly collapsing white head, moderate dryish bitter-sweet aroma of exotic and citrus fruits, pale malt, not so sweet, underneath; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied and soft; lingering bitter and mildly tart finish. Regarding its strength, a pretty good drop...

Canned, thanks Sebilinz! Clear golden, small head. Minerally caramel aroma. Mid sweet with light body and clean, hard mouthfeel. Resin, syrup and metal, some citrus. Resinous bitter finish. Edgy.

33cl bottle. A hazy yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of dry citrus hops, pale malt. Taste of intense dry mild citrusy hops, pale malt, straw, long bitter finish.

Ein rotes IPA. Unter dieser Bezeichnung kannte ich auch noch kein Bier. Dem Namen und der schönen rotbraunen Farbe nach, erwartete ich mir ein fruchtig-malziges Bier à la Abteibier, aber man bekommt ein bitteres Imperial IPA, das zugegebenermaßen auf dem Etikett steht. Die würzigen Malznoten wie fruchtige Töne fand ich also nicht. Stattdessen ordentliche starke Bitternote und Hopfentöne. Nicht übel, aber mir etwas zu brutal.

Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes of honey, dried fruits, vanilla, marzipan, nutty, some molasses. Finishes light to medium sweet with notes of marzipan, nutty and some dried fruits. Nice one, bit heavy, bit boozy, bit sweet, not extraordinary, but overall good 7,4,7,3,15
