getrunken im Sommer 2017 Es gibt eine weitere Kleinbreuerei aus dem Großraum Wien. Diesmal aus der für ihr Schloss bekannten Ortschaft Laxenburg. Vorerst konnte ich nur das Zwickel in einer auf österreichisches Craft-Bier spezialisierten Kneipe in der Nähe der Wr. Hauptbahnhofes kosten. Das Bier ist ein typisches, leichtes Zwickelbier, wobei es weitaus weniger vollmundig erscheint als die deutschen Kellerbiere. Mit zitronig-grasigen und blumig-krautigen Aromen sowie leichten malzigen Biskuit-Geschmack passt es gut als Sommerbier. Vielleicht nicht das besondere Craftbier, aber ein solider Durstlöscher.

0,33l bottle at home bought from Malefitz. BB 12.04.2017. amber hazy color, small white head. smells herbal, grasy, some exotic fruits, mango, passion fruit, earthy, light pines. nice smell. light body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of pines, citric, lemon grass, some grapefruit, mango, bit earthy, chewy, light oats. finishes lightly bitter with notes of lemon grass, citrus and some earthy notes. quite nice one, looses a bit towards the finish, the hops are not totally crisp anymore, but still quite enjoyable beer.

Dark amber, hazy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of passion fruit, berries, pink grapefruit, some bubblegum, some grass, slight earth.
Taste is quite similar, with some more smooth bready maltiness.
Medium, a bit oily, velvety mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter, medium dry, a bit herbal, with lots of pink grapefruit again, some fruity sweetness, some bready notes.
Very nice. Quite weet, but very well balanced, with enough bitterness, especially towards the finish and a smooth, bready malt backbone. Lots of fruits, like some lovely pink grapefruit that I like a lot. Overall a really pleasant surprise, quaffable, balanced and with a lot of character.

Aroma of grass, flowers, herbs, citrus, candy, grains, subtle bread.
Tastes of flowers, grass, citrus, fresh herbs, earth, some bread, subtle biscuit.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation.
Finishes moderate bitter, a bit dry, earthy, grainy, floral, a bit citric, a bit herbal.
Nice one. Fresh and clean, with nice floral and earthy notes, with some citric hops. Nothing outstanding, but a really quaffable Kellerbier, with some character, how I like it.

0,33l bottle at home shared by Saeglopur, big thanks. BB 28.09.2016. dark yellow quite cloudy# small white tense head. smells citric, tobacco, grains, light sweetness, rather average smell. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes rather sweet, honey, light metallic, some plums, light yeast, tobacco, a bit grassy. finishes lightly bitter with notes of grass and some tobacco. OKish, did not enjoy it too much.
