330ml can brought back from Singapore by a friend. Poured into an old Forbidden Fruit chalice at home on 26th April 2026. Slight haze in the light golden body, lovely white head for 30 seconds and then just a wispy covering. Malty nose with a citrus twist, taste is of semi sweet tropical fruits, a grapefruit like bitterness arrives after each sip, as your mouth dries.

Penang > Singapore rail excursion: a small can from Cold Storage supermarket on Joo Chiat Road, Singapore, and drunk at home here in Taipei. Aroma: very nice, delicate and floral. Appearance: opaque amber with a shade of lemon, one finger snow white froth. Palate: medium-bodied and sticky, fizzy carbonation; lingering aftertaste with some astringency. Taste: medium-sweet with astringent notes, biscuit and a hit of marmalade. Quite quaffable.

Penang > Singapore rail excursion: a small can from Cold Storage supermarket on Joo Chiat Road, Singapore, and drunk at home here in Taipei. Aroma: over-ripe pineapple, though sweet and quite fresh. Appearance: semi-opaque honey amber with a generous cap of snow white froth. Palate: medium-bodied and a little bit sticky on the tongue, rather fizzy carbonation; finishes with a nice chewy mouth feel. Taste: medium-sweet with a pleasing biscuit flavoured backbone; fruit doesn’t really come through on this one, but it’s quaffable nonetheless.

LCI. Oversweet, like lychee syrup from a can added to a sour.

Pajiza anaranjada. Escasa espuma. Aroma delicadamente malteado, bizcocho, naranja. En boca es oleosa, de escaso gas y rico sabor con todas las características que anunciaba en el aroma. Rica.

A small bottle from Cold Storage supermarket, Raffles City Shopping Centre, near City Hall MRT, purchased while on holiday in Singapore, drunk at home in Taipei. Aroma: yeasty, 70s era homebrew. Appearance: opaque light amber, head is gargantuan, off-white bubbles, '...it's frothy man...' Palate: medium-bodied and sticky on the tongue, average carbonation; finish is rich, well-hopped, wild yeast but nothing sour about this beer. Taste: lightly sweet, biscuit, yeast, some understated citrus. Inoffensive, a welcome change from the usual 'canned pineapple' IPAs.

A small bottle from Cold Storage supermarket, Raffles City Shopping Centre, near City Hall MRT, purchased while on holiday in Singapore, drunk at home in Taipei. Aroma: well-malted, a bit of coffee. Appearance: Americano, generous head of handsome tan bubbles. Palate: medium-bodied and oily, softish carbonation; long, well-malted finish, a little bit tart. Taste: the aroma doesn't do it justice, it is strongly malted, with expresso. Not at all sweet, very pleasing.
