Bottle from Hol Ab, Südstadt, Hannover. Clear dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit, light chocolate and a little wood. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. No sign of the cognac. 120417

Bottle from Getränke-Quelle, Quedlinburg, as Altenauer Harzer Pilsener. 5.0 % ABV. Aroma is clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light citrus and light hoppy - straw. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 110417

Bottle at my parents’. Pours clear dark amber with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, some notes of citrus, bread. Tastes slightly bitter with some sweetness. Medium bodied, bitter finish.

0,33 l swing top bottle. Think its a different beer than their former Maibock, due to a different abv and Mandarina Bavaria hop. Clear dark red golden nearly copper in the glass, more than a one finger but fast fading head. Low malty on the nose. Taste starts with low malt and grain, some sweetness. Increasing alcoholic bitterness in the middle part. Some elements of orange. Low carbonation. Okay.

Bottle at Grunewoche. But brown with a thin head. Aroma is light malt. Flavour is malt, wood, smooth chocolate, malt and hip dry finish. Very easy drink.

From bottle at Grunewoche. Mahogany with a medium head. Aroma of chocolate malt. Flavor is powdered chocolate, hop and earth, flavor really grows as you drink it.
