At a tasting, almost no head, clear deep red color, sweet jammy fruit drops aroma, same traits in flavor but more like real fruit, noticable sourness. simple and too much like an alcopop, but still nice.

Can, small stable bubbly head, touch hazy dark red to light brown color, not too appealing, malty aroma with some apple and a hint of hay, fmalty flavor with cooked apples and some barnyard hints, light unpleasant bitterness, metalic aftertaste. Not good or exciting, feels old, not fresh.

Bottle at home, 22/07/18. Ribena red with a decent cap formed of white bubbles. Nose is apple and blackcurrant squash, straw, grains, bittersweet. Taste comprises berry pips, apple skins, blackcurrant, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for a fruited cider.

Keg at Hawkes. It pours clear pale gold with a tiny bubbly head. The aroma is earthy, musty, funk, damp leaves, apple skin, apple crumble, custard creams and soor plooms. The taste is firmly dry, bone dry even, earthy, musty, bit of funk, apple skin, gooseberry, grape skin, apple crumble and custard, bit of spice and tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and just a touch of carbonation to lift it. Really nice balance and rather classy actually. Just the right amount of sweetness (i.e. not much). Nice work.
