Description
Neptune Brewery has been brewing modern beers, inspired by tradition, since 2015. We’re a small but mighty team and proudly independent. Our beers are naturally conditioned and all the “uns” - that’s unfiltered, unpasteurised and unfined - ensuring the greatest flavour in each brew. It also means our beers are vegan friendly as we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy them.

On keg at Albert's Schenke.
Appearance - cloudy orange to red. Foamy white head.
Nose - funk, citrus and definite raspberry.
Taste - mainly raspberry, sour and funky.
Palate - light bodied, not that fruity before the persistent sour finish kicks in.
Overall - decent example though I'm getting past fruited sours.

Keg at Tapps, Llandudno. Amber. Slightly opaque. Thin foamy white head. Aroma is malty. Light fruit. Kinda buttery. Light-medium bitter. Woody. Peripheral citrus. Big malty bready core. Gradually develops more of a citrus presence. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Bland APA.

This is beer number 8 for the evening for me - exactly 40 years ago today it was the number '19' topping the singles chart in the UK by Paul Hardcastle. A lower sourness sour beer with good raspberry in aroma and taste.

Cask at the Southampton Arms London on 25th March 2025. Intense, deep sepia with pale tan foam and partial lacing. Coffee roast malt aroma. Coffee, bitter chocolates and some leafy notes in-mouth. A finish reflecting all flavours of the liquid pass. Medium to full bodied with a velvet smooth mouthfeel.

Beer Number 14 at the Wigan Beer Festival 2025. Pretty much as described, this is a hoppy and somewhat biscuit-malty effort. Very good too.

(Cask at Rake, Borough, London, 23 Nov 2024) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit and apricots. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, resin, apricots and a balanced citric/herbal bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and refreshing. Nice one.
