On draght at the brewpub: Hazy and pale golden, mid-sized, quite stable and lacy head; distinctive Saaz nose with a delicate sweet-malty background; moderate to stronger bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; moderate hoppy-malty finish. A fine brew....

On draught at the brewpub: hazy, lively carbonation, reddish-amber coloured, very stable, very persistent big off-white head; sweet Saaz hops cover a delicate toasted-malty base in the aroma; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft MF; sweet toasted-malty finish with a very good dash of aromatic Saaz hops. Gorgeous brew.........

swing top bottle (500ml).-Honey golden coloured, medium to big long lasting white head, rice nose. The taste...Rice and hay with notes of barnyard. I was expecting something much better from this beer.

Draft at the brewpub. Misty golden body. Dry grainy eggy nose. Soft flowery taste, simple, soft, nice. 6/3/6/3/13Bottle, courtesy of and shared with ozujsko whose gf brought it from Wien (thanks!) Poured a misty apricot-golden colour with a medium-big sized thick white head that went away slow. The nose was... odd. Rice crackers. The taste was a huge letdown. Rie crispies & hay. Almost nothing else. Weak, kinda odd hopiness, some weak malt presence. Blah. Not impressive at all. A bad batch? I sure hope so because this is dull and definitely not what I expected from the brewer of that great Rauchbier. 5/3/4/2/9

300m vom Fass at the brewpub in Vienna, and a 500ml swingtop bottle (bb.31.12.07) brought home to Tromsø and enjoyed as a partner to late lunch on Boxing day. Slightly unclear, amber body with a thin, lasting head. Aroma is sweet milky and malty. The dominant flavours are puddingy almond supported by vanilla, butter, and light caramel. Dry hopped ending. Rounded palate (02.12 and 26.12.2007).

300ml at the brewpub in Vienna and a 500ml flip-top bottle (bb.02.01.2008) brought back home and enjoyed at winter solstice in Tromsø. Pours a white, mostly lasting head resting on a slightly foggy, amber body. Pale malty aroma with hints of citrus. Flavour is a mix of malt and dry, lemony hops with notes of wheat. Refreshing. Well bodied for a helles. Some oily hints to the palate (Wien 02.12 and Tromsø 22.12.2007).

Stupendously huge, very fine & dense yellow head; hazy yellow-amber beer. Almonds, waffles with syrup, vanilla, quite sweet smelling, spicy bread. BItterish-lined cake, orange, orange peel. Sweet impression, but overwhelmed by the bitterish(even hoppy)-fruity flavours. This is great and perfect balance. Nutmeg & cinnamon retronasal. Well bodied, slick, but without any viscosity. Excellent Bock! Thank you very much for following my instructions, Dean!! ;^}

500ml flip-top bottle (Bügelflasche, bb.02.01.08) bought at the brewpub in Wien and consumed back home in Tromsø on an early Saturday eve. Frothy, beige lacing foam under an unclear dark brown body. Smell of chocolate malts. Starts with lightly roasted grain drifting over to sweet dark malts with a vanilla touch later joined by hints of tart fruits and then notes of chocolate towards the end. Good stuff, but a bit watered - in need of more body, I would say (15.12.2007).
