500ml swing-top bottle (Bügelflasche) (bb.31.12.07) bought at 7 Stern Bräu and enjoyed at our hotel in Vienna. Almost clear, amber in colour topped by a slowly fading white foam that left good lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma with elements of pineapples and grapefruits. Sweet herbal taste stongly supported by succulent oranges. Dry, but short ending. Refreshing and easy to drink (03.12.2007).

500ml flip-top bottle bought at the brew pub and enjoyed at our hotel room in Wien. Amber coloured, slightly hazy. Moderate, lacing head. Floral aroma with a nice touch of oranges.. Sappy citric fruits on a malty backbone supported by biscuits and nuts. Bitter orange peels towards the finish. A living and refreshing brew - my best Märzen so far (02.12.2007).

Yeah, this is really hot and heavy burning stuff. 300ml vom Fass at the brew pub in Wien. The pour reveals a hazy, amber body topped by a creamy, slightly off-white head. Compared to the taste the smell is rather innocent with hints of malty spiciness. The first two sips are very hot with chili and other spicies burning down the palate. But after the sense of taste has been numbed(?), it becomes more drinkable and hints of malt and grapefruits are coming through. Foamy mouthfeel and looong spicy aftertaste. Indeed, a very rare drinking experience (02.12.2007)

Bottled. Hazy pale orange. Fruity apricot aroma. Sweet and medium boduied with rounded mouthfeel. Fruity almond character from the hemp with some gentle grassiness behind. In typical 7Stern tradition the malt backbone is solid and vital. Some late bitterness. A thoroughly well made beer.

Pale amber color, small steady off-white head. Aroma is mix of vegetables and glue. Flavor starts sweet - just for a second - then chilli burn arrive hitting like a hammer. Before burn hits too heavily I can taste sweet malty lager with diacetylic flavors. No go - but "better" than Cave Creek Chilli Beer!

Dark honey golden color, small steady white head, lace. Aroma of herbal hops and as you know it - I could say aroma of hemp too. Very grassy, herbal flavor, but not anything what hemp users could love (I am not one of them :)), I suppose. Sweetish maltyness. Quite similar to another Austrian hanf-bier I’ve had previously.

Dark nut brown color, small steady off-white head. Light aroma of smoked ham. Sweetish, caramelly flavor then light to average flavor of smoke from Bamberg smoked malts. I can trace hints of diacetyl in the flavor too. This is their best beer, but just an average smoked, in Bamberg they certainly do it much better.

Hazy dark amber color, small creamy off-white head, lace. Weird aroma of overriped banana and glue. Overriped banana flavor. Sweet weizen with light roasted or dry aftertaste. Not really bad but something is really missing in this one.
