Can @ Watering Hole, Tokyo. Hazy yellow pour, bit of foam on the top. Soft citrus nose. Tastes soft, oats are shining for sure, light bitterness and lots of juice. Velvety citrus, good, soft & fruity. Great example of a well executed NEIPA and forks great with Citra hop. Finish is a bit rough though, otherwise pretty good.

Very light golden white color. Smooth easy drinking. Nice stuff stuff but a bit simple with a touch of candided mangoes.

As Sola Galaxy Nerd 7.5% cheers for the share Mick. Opaque hazy gold with a nice juicy aroma of apricot and sweet tart fruitiness. Starts off fairly full bodied but ends a bit watery. The taste is fruity and flavorful, nice to see in Japan but 2000¥/can may be a bit much...

My first beer from this Pennsylvanian craft brewery, bottle from De Caigny shared with Goedele and Johan. Had this under its previous name Sole Atmospheric Black Metal but the brand name has changed to Separatist apparently now; I do, however, assume that this beer and its recipe has remained unchanged so put my rating here. Loosely knit, pale brownish-tinged beige, thinnish head, quickly dissolving into almost nothing, over a black beer with hazy mahogany-brown edges. Aroma of chocolate liqueur, kahlua, walnut oil, whisky, hot chocolate sauce, elderberry syrup, damp earth, pipe tobacco, granola, whisky, glue and a vague, fortunately very volatile manure-like note. Sweetish candied fig and dried prunes in the onset with a blackberry-ish sourish note, finely tingling carb, full and oily mouthfeel yet perhaps not quite as full as I normally expect from a 10% ABV stout. Pleasantly nutty, toffeeish and bitter black chocolatey body though, with bittering toasty and clearly cocoa-delivered edges that in the end are accentuated by a relatively sharp, heating booziness, wodka-like almost with a solventy edge – a bit too much for me personally. The overall flavour composition, however, remains agreeable and typical for a modern American style ‘impy’, with roasted coffeeish and black chocolatey flavours lingering as well as a spicy hop bitter kick in the tail. Decent enough but not quite a the level of the great legends in this deeply ‘Americanized’ style.

Bomber shared. Honestly got this just for the name. Black to brown, little head. Nose is dark fruit, cacao, BE quad, thin for the style more of an okay Quad, BE, dark fruit, chocolate some soy sauce than a coffee & nibs RIS, fair BE dark fruits, soy sauce, poor for RIS but fair as a beer in general.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a dark golden color with a huge creamy yellow white head that lingered forever and left exceptional lacing. The aroma was earthy, off and musty. The flavor was off, medicinal and earthy with citrus and an almost rancid note. Medium length finish. Medium body.

Sampled on draft at Hugo's this beer poured a murky yellow color with an enormous foamy yellow-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was fruity with cactus and citrus notes. The flavor was cactus, fruity hops and a bit of yeast. Long finish. Medium body.
