Description
The Schlossbrauerei Ellingen with its fine beer specialties has been around since 1690. Experience a piece of our long-standing brewing history with every sip. What makes our beers so unique? FÜRST CARL beers are still brewed by hand in the traditional way in the copper brewhouse of the historic brewery. Our raw materials are natural and come from Ellingen and the region: water from our own well, hops and malt from Ellingen and Franconia. We only brew what we are good at: Franconian beer specialties!

Our family, the princes of Wrede and the team of FÜRST CARL stand behind what we do: first-class beers.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and consumed sat in Frank at the bottom of our drive at home (we slept in Frank on the drive tonight) Friday 14th July 2023 listening to Indie Forever on 6Music. We didn't have the Chicken and Halloumi Burgers in the end, simply not hungry. Pours deep amber with a large white head. You can pick up the rum barrel ageing on the nose, also some light caramel and honey. Thick mouthfeel, some dried fruits, caramel again, soft and smooth, easy drinking but perhaps not as much going on here as the impressively derailed description suggests.
