Bottle from Au Grain d’orge, Crissier
Cloudy amber color, medium sized creamy head. Some aroma of malt, hops and yeast. smooth mouthfeel, some malt flavor, but also too much yeast presence, and therefore a light touch of vegetables and light final astringency; relatively string bitterness.
I heard that they wanted to work on their Cascade, but it doesn’t seem so, maybe too green too.

2013-06-24, draught at La Bossette, Lausanne, 8-3-7-3-14=35
Muddy blond color. Nice aroma, sweaty and fruity, dry resins. Very dry mouthfeel, not much malt flavor, very bitter, not fruity though, with some hop resins, and some yeast in the end.
Good but not enough fruity.
2013-06-21, bottle, bb 15.02.2014, Lot casc 001, 8-4-7-4-15=38
This year the recipe has been tweaked a bit and more Cascade was used.
Cloudy deep blond color with generous head. The aroma is very nice, once again more focus on the malt than the hops; good grainy malt and biscuits in the front, some Cascade later, with moderate fruit and sweat. Smooth mouthfeel; it has a good malt flavor, a bit grainy; strong bitterness, less fruity than it could be, but quite resiny.
Still rough, but we can see the improvement.
2012
A pleasant beer that tastes more like a Helles than an Ale, with decent malt but with a misleading name, because there is not much Cascade.
For the next batch we hope in more fruity contribution from the hop and less yeast.
2012-07-01, bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, 6-3-7-3-13=32
Cloudy pale blond color with large head. Delicate aroma, leaning on cereals and light malts. Smooth mouthfeel; there is some malt flavor, less expressive than the beer on draught, some corn; it has a correct bitterness level, but not much quality from the hop, and definitively no Cascade; it has a bit too much yeast, giving a light final astringency.
Pleasant but not characteristic Helles.
2012-06-29, draught at Fête de la Bière Artisanale, Crissier, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Cloudy blond color; creamy head. Delicate aroma, some malt and hop. Light body, delicate malt flavor, with a cereals touch; the Cascade hopping is subdued, it could be more fruity. There is too much yeast, this beer should be better filtered 8but not totally filtered).
Very pleasant American Pale Ale.
