As of 1995 the Courage brands were owned by Scottish and Newcastle Breweries. The brands were then sold to Wells and Young's, and then Eagle Brewery. The Eagle Brewery and beer brands including Courage were acquired by Marstons PLC in 2017.
Marstons merged with Carlsberg in 2020. The Eagle Brewery was sold to the Spanish brewer Damm in 2022, with Carlsberg Marston retaining ownership of the brands.
Carlsberg's purchased the remaining Marston share in 2024, and Carlsberg Britvic was formed in 2025. Courage beer brands then become fully owned by Carlsberg Britvic.

Copper-amber, naked surface. Caramel malts to the nose. Toffee malts in flavour, sustained by developing bitter fruits towards the finish. True to the style. Cask, half at Hand & Shears, London 4 Oct 10.

Originally rated August 2004. Sampled from a 500ml can at Pub Italia in Ottawa. This bitter english ale poured a deep amber colour with a good looking head. Had slight aromas of caramel and nuts. Taste was not as bitter as I expected, more smooth and malty. Not quite the beer I thought it would be, but a very good one nonetheless. Would have this brew again.

500ml bottle. Pours amber with a medium head. Aroma is slightly spicy hops. Some bread in ther somewhere. Some spicy hops hops on the finish. Very watery.

Cask at Pride of Paddington. Pours a mostly clear, amber-ruby with a receding, white and creamy head. Fairly fruity aroma with some toasty malts and faint hops. Sweet flavor with some orange and biscuit, followed by mild citrus and earth bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet and malty with short-lived bitterness. Not bad.

@ Hop Pole, Limpley Stoke. Golden-amber. Caramelly aroma. The palate is caramel with a hint of toastiness. Sweetish finish, maybe with light minerals.

Cask@GBBF2010. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wooden, earthy and mildly toffeeish. Flavour is wooden, dry earthyness as well as some caramel malts. Not bad, just slightly boring...

Cask@GBBF2010. Ambery/coppery colour with small beige head. Aroma is fruits, wood, nectar and some mild spicy and syrupy notes. Flavour is quite much the same, but ends in a quite nice dry bittery finish. Rather sweetish Premium Bitter.

50cl Bottle brought from London, thanks Manon! Clear copper amber colour, light off white head. Aroma of light grassy and piney hops, light toasted malts, hint of cardboard. Flavour is light sweet, malty, caramel, dry hoppy bitter finish. Light bodied. Refreshing bitter.
