Bottle: Clear, dark amber with a short, off-white head. Caramel and light cola scent. Taste is pretty much the same....a little metallic bitter. Nothing memorable, but nothing offensive either.....OK.

Can: Clear, yellow-gold with a thick and frothy white head. Aroma is slightly fruity...barley malt.... Taste is creamy, barley malt....I’m struck by the taste and aroma, which reminds me of strawberries and cream...... Really a standout....different....but extremely tasty....an absolute pleasure.

On tap at City Works. Pours a clear deep amber with a ruby hue and a pink head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has tons of sweet blueberry with a bit of light grains underlying. Flavor is similar with lots of sweet blueberry and not much else.

This is the best of the three current Grainbelt beers, with the others being far too sweet. Familiar Grainbelt aroma with less sugar. Surprising amount of hops in the aroma as well. Quite dry, considering its provenance. A dry, bitter, hop bite and some grain, and I am reminded of sipping Blatz from my grandfather’s glass 30 years ago. I really like how dry this beer is in the flavor and palate. Looks good, yellow color and a tall, thick head that lasts and laces the glass.

Purple foam, and purple beer. Served cold, a little ice in the first few sips. Sweet with blueberry, and lots of blueberry flsvor. The sweetness of Grain belt works well with the fruit. Lasting purple head. Surprisingly good. They could can this beer and compete with the fruit beer market. Much better than their radler or gose. --- Beer merged from original tick of Blu on 20 Sep 2018 at 18:16 - Score: 7
