Description
Das Vierzehnheiliger Bier wird bereits seit 1803 hier oberhalb der Wallfahrtskirche Vierzehnheiligen gebraut – ein „Nothelfer“ im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Denn wenn die vielen Pilger oberhalb der Kirche aus dem Wald kommen, begeben sich nur die wenigsten sofort in die Kirche, sondern stärken sich zuvor lieber bei einem Seidla und einer hausgemachten Brotzeit.

Seit 1803 lässt sich eine ''Alte“ Klosterbrauerei Vierzehnheiligen nachweisen, die neben der Basilika Vierzehnheiligen betrieben wurde. Von 1839 bis 1879 bestand die Brauerei als Franziskaner-Convent-Bierbrauerei. Später wurde sie von der Familie Martin geführt und als Sternbräu Vierzehnheiligen bezeichnet und nach 1950 in Brauerei Martin umbenannt. 1989 wurde die Brauerei von der Familie Trunk übernommen und modernisiert and als Brauerei Trunk weitergeführt.

Bottled. A golden beer with a slight haze under a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet mlaty with notes of straw and hops. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of straw, leading to a dry and rather bitter finish.

50 cL bottle, 5.1%. Pours slight hazy with a little lacing head. Mild cornish aroma. Flavour is dry malty with a vague bitterness and light spice note. Ends with a light breadish/cornish note.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown color with an off-white head. Bready malty aroma with some hints of caramel. Sweet malty bready caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

bottle, traded with MoritzF - thank you! Clear golden yelow, medium-sized head. Malty and spicy flavours dominate, full-bodied. Tiny hints of roasted malt, the alcohol is hardly detectable. Slightly fruity. Well-rounded and balanced Bock, really delicious.

Draft. A brown beer with a thick orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with lots of bread notes. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw, caramel, and bread. Nice, but a bit light bodied.

Bottle: Golden, lively carbonation, firm, stable white head, grainy-bisquity nose, hops waving through; medium bodied, creamy, smooth MF, moderate sweet-bitter flavour; first grainy, later a light hoppy finish with some subtle fruity traces. Well crafted, pleasant and smooth stuff......

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a big, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet, cara-malty and honey-fruity aroma with shy hoppy notes in the background. Initially sweet cara-malty, slightly bready taste with a tinge of honey, medium bodied, well-carbonated and well-matured, slightly chalky mouthfeel; lingering, moderately sweet malty, biscuity and subtle fruity finish with a delicate but rounded hoppy bitterness. Recommended.

(bottle, purchased at the brewery) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized, slowly lacing foamy white head. Light-sweet but also biscuity and slightly strawy malty aroma with a touch of lemon and slightly spicy, herbal hops. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Strawy pale malt character with very subtle fruity notes; slightly sweet, cara-malty and slightly hoppy finish. Fairly balanced and pleasant pale Festbier.
