Description
Bullfrog Brewery is a proudly independent and multiple award-winning craft microbrewery, brewpub, and eatery nestled comfortably in the vibrant heart of downtown Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Born of fortuitous circumstance and ambitious aspiration, we opened in August of 1996 with a committed 'focal on local' philosophy and a simple yet lofty goal ... to be the place that people need to spend time, to brew beers that people need to have in their life, to offer food that people need to eat, to offer live music that people need to hear, and to be the place that our beloved staff need to work. Bullfrog beers are renowned far and wide, especially our artfully-crafted, barrel-aged wild ales such as Le Roar Grrrz and Rood Bruin. Here at "The Frog," we celebrate life by creating outstanding and memorable beers, food, friendships, and moments.

Sampled on draft at Zeno’s in State College PA this beer poured a black color with a small beige head. The aroma was somewhat fruity port wine adn a touch roasty - odd but pleasant. The flavor was bitter, woody and roasty with a sherry undertone. The finish was long, dry, roasty and woody. A bit thin in body. Ok.

All raspberries, all the time. There are light touches of funk and oak, but this is mostly an exercise in drinking sour raspberries. Sour is medium. Good beer but it’s somewhat one-dimensional, not that there’s really anything wrong with that. I would have liked a bit more funk and depth in the flavor.

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s RBSG 2010. Pours a nice dark red. Nose is sour apples, sour cherry skin and light vinous oak. Taste is much the same, but very well balanced and smooth. A little tart, but not over the top. Great beer.
