Description
Bullfrog Brewery is a proudly independent and multiple award-winning craft microbrewery, brewpub, and eatery nestled comfortably in the vibrant heart of downtown Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Born of fortuitous circumstance and ambitious aspiration, we opened in August of 1996 with a committed 'focal on local' philosophy and a simple yet lofty goal ... to be the place that people need to spend time, to brew beers that people need to have in their life, to offer food that people need to eat, to offer live music that people need to hear, and to be the place that our beloved staff need to work. Bullfrog beers are renowned far and wide, especially our artfully-crafted, barrel-aged wild ales such as Le Roar Grrrz and Rood Bruin. Here at "The Frog," we celebrate life by creating outstanding and memorable beers, food, friendships, and moments.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Clear, warm orangey brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of oak and butter. Quite full-bodied, sweet burned caramel, overripe and dried fruit. Has an underlying tartness, a vague rustic fusty touch most likely from the barrel and distinct oaky accents. Lightly tart finish. 300809

Sample at the 8/9 Pgh tasting, thanks to Nate! Murky lighter brown, some funk in the aroma, comes across like a sour ale or lambic on the nose. Tart and sour beer. Some bitterness but never in the forefront. A very decent beer experience which I haghly thank nate for. Big chunks of things floating around in the bottom of my glass. Lovely experience!

An extravagant thanks goes out to MrChopin for this special brew! Had the pleasure of sampling this at the 7/9/2009 Pittsburgh RB tasting extravaganza (PGHRBEXT) at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse. It will be a long time, if ever I see a spread of bottles like I did there. I am not good enough for the beers that were that we served! For example, how about this beer: BF frambozen! From a liter bottle. Farmy tart lambic aroma. Has mostly a brown color with some red or pink mixed in. Has some scum on top. Quite sour initially. Has a hint of bitterness in there. Tingling sensations on the tongue! Some odd precipitants inside my glass. Quite interesting and entertaining brew. Fun experienced. I expected to taste more berry flavors in here. Funky wool blanket impressions continue. Finish is mild bitterness hanging around for a while but this was an overall great taste.

Sampled from a corked and caged 750ml bottle at the DC Local gathering thanks to ygtbsm94. Pours a hazy, translucent ruby red with a thin, ringing white head and very tight bubbles. Nice aroma, sour fruits, slightly sweaty, yeasty, some brett. Flavor is a bit watery, sweet, honey, raspberry, with a sour lactic thing going on. Buttery on the palate. Starts out great but doesn’t deliver on what the eyes and nose promise.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a murky brown color with multiple floating bits and a medium sized tan head that faded quickly. The aroma was tart and tangy cabernet sauvignon. The flavor was tart and tangy with notes of honey, nut and a strong cabernet element. The finish was long, tart, sour and winey. Fairly full bodied. The wine really dominates but in a good way. Very good.

sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a hazy red-orange color with lots of floaters and a small white head. The aroma was tart, vinegary and lightly fruity but overall dominated by the vinegar. The flavor was dry, tart and sour with moderate vague fruits. The finish was long, dry, tart and vinegary. Ok.
