50cl swing-top bottle from the brewpub. Pours clear dark orange brown colour with a mid-sized/small off-white head. Aroma of mild roasted malt, caramel and nuts. Taste of mild roasted malt, floral hops, nuts and caramel, nice!

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear amber to red color, average sized off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, slightly earthy. Taste malts, lightly sweet, a bit dusty. Soft mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Meh.

Draught @ Kathi-Bräu, Heckenhof 1, Heckenhof, Bavaria Germany 91347. [ As Kathi-Bräu Dunkles Bockbier ].Unclear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light nutty and chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, nutty, dark malt, sweet malt, licoirice hop notes. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. [20140512]

Vom Faß im Kathi-Bräu (28.9.2013). - Wurde deutlich zu kalt serviert. Daher anfangs nur leicht säuerlich-pikanter Antrunk, sonst wenig Geschmack. Brausig-dünn. Erst mit zunehmender Erwärmung kommen schöne nussig-röstmalzige Aromen zur Geltung. Im Nachtrunk kaum Hopfen, leicht säuerlich. - Kathi-Bräu mag unter Motorradfahrern Kultstatus genießen, aber dieses Bier ist bestenfalls durchschnittlich. Franken hat weit Besseres zu bieten.

Clear deep brown beer, irregular creamy light beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. aroma: coffee, some dark caramel, toast, bit of chocolate. Mf: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: grains, hay, toast, mocha, little bitter, hoppy, some caramel. Aftertaste: fudge, caramel, mocha, bit hoppy, chocolate, grains and hay. Very German signature, but pretty complex and interesting.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown colour. Good stable creamy tan head. The flavour is slightly bready in the good way, resembles rye, but probably is not. OK mouthfeel, slightly creamy.
