"Eppelein & Friends Barleywine Artwork (Vintage 2023)", Fläschchen von den Getränkerittern, 17.3.2026. - Dunkles Kastanienbraun, trüb. - In der Nase schweres, reich karamelliges Wiener Malz mit Toffeesüße und aromatische, gewürzartig-herbale und hopfenwürzige Hopfung. - Antrunk sahnig schwer und reich wienermalzig mit leiser Mokkanote, sirupähnlicher Karamelbonbonsüße und frischer, kantig herbaler und fein zitrusbitterer Hopfung, Anklänge an Gewürznelken. Milder rezent, sahnig weich und füllig im Mund. Im Abgang malzbitter und kräftig hopfenherb; auch die Nelke ist noch da (ein wenig zu sehr). - Schöner, mächtig schwerer, noch ein wenig eckiger Barleywine; hätte vielleicht noch etwas reifen müssen (MHD: 28.02.2027).

A hazy golden beer with a white head. Aroma of banana, yeast, flowers and mild citrusy hops. Taste of mild citrusy hops, flowers, hay, pale malt, yeast. Moderate bitterness.

Tap at Fränkisches Bierfest, out of glasses that say 26. Maybe it is 2026 now. Or this is the 26th edition of the festival. It does not rain, so it only counts as half a festival - experience says it rains. Clear deep amber golden. Apple, damp hay. Creamy, oily with an edgy aftertaste. Soft. It is not bad.
