Clear golden pour with a small white head. Aroma is mainl malt/bread, a hint of citrus. Taste is similar, bit on the sweeter side. Not bad, not terrible.

Hessisches Löwenbier Pilsner aus der Hütt-Brauerei, Flasche von Ratio, Baunatal. - Goldgelb, klar. - In der Nase kernig-derb zitrusfruchtige und herbale Hopfung, dahinter ein klein wenig helles Malz. - Antrunk kernig und etwas ruppig zitronig-hopfenherb mit feineren herbalen Zügen und trockener Zitronenschale. Sauberes helles Malz, zarte Restsüße. Gut rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang saftige zitronige Hopfenbittere mit herbalen Noten (Tettnanger nennt das Etikett). - Solides, aromatisch gehopftes Pilsener, etwas derb aber sehr ordentlich. Für mich das beste der bisherigen Pilsbiere aus Baunatal. (16.10.2022.)

Clear golden color with a white head. Smell and taste malts, not a lot of flavor, maybe lightly bitter. Low body and carbonation. Meh. 4-3-4-2-8.

„Hessisches Löwenbier Brauer Schorsch’s Haustrunk“, Flasche (33 cl) von Edeka, Fritzlar. - Goldgelb, klar. - In der Nase matt brotiges, zart säuerliches helles Malz, ganz schwache Herbe. - Antrunk flau süßlich hellmalzig mit Spuren von Karamel. Schwache, leicht kräuterige Hopfung. Etwas milder rezent, ein wenig vollmundiger als üblich. Im Abgang fade, leicht ranzige Hopfenherbe. - Auch nur ein billiges Industriebier mit dämlicher Werbung. Das kann Brauer Schorsch gern allein aussaufen ...

“Hessisches Löwen-Bier hell“, Flasche (50 cl) von Edeka, Niederweimar. - Die Hessische Löwenbier-Brauerei produziert schon seit etlichen Jahren nicht mehr; das Löwenbier kommt jetzt von der Hütt-Brauerei, wie das Etikett offen vermerkt. - Blaßgelb, klar. - Stumpfe, blaß kräuterige Nase. - Antrunk etwas muffig-strohig hellmalzig, teigig. Blasse, schwach kräuterige Hopfenherbe, matte Zitronenschale. Milder rezent. Eigenartige Restsüße, schwach ranzige Herbe. - Wenig schmackhaftes Helles.

Pours gold from the bottle. The frothy white head soon fades. Aroma is fresh dough with a light honey nuance. Taste is bready sweet with raw white dough notes. Finishes with a mild chalk bitterness. Body is medium with a mild, dry chalky feel that clings to the tongue. A hint of pear lingers on the tongue afterwards. Carbonation is moderate. Drinkable but not my thing.
