Bottle. 'Triple', according to the front label. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Grain, yeasty, malt. Taste: Grain, yeasty, sweetish malt, candy sugar, white caster sugar. Some citrus and peppery notes. Over moderate to medium sweet, moderate to over moderate bitter. Medium body, pretty smooth mouthfeel, just below average carbonation. Ok complexity for a Tripel-like beer.

21/9/2019. Bottle from Die Bierothek, Leipzig. This is a 6% IPA so should probably be separately listed (though I see others have listed it here). Attractive old medicine bottle shaped bottle, this one produced for the Die Bierothek chain as it has their logo and the label is written in German. Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a lasting slightly foamy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, grapefruit, pine and malt. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, average carbonation. Not bad, but needed a little more body.

330ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma is hoppy blackcurrants Lockets and a little cocoa. Taste has blackcurrant hops to start. Cocoa and a little coffee on the finish. Very full in the mouth.

Il gusto al naso propende per orzo tostato e caffè. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma ha una scarsa tenuta. Le bollicine sono grandi. Il liquido è di aspetto cristallino. Il colore è marrone scuro. Il corpo è rotondo e acquoso. L'amaro è contenuto. L'intensità gustativa è normale. La costanza gustativa è sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali che permangono sono di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. L'aroma in bocca porta note di caramello, miele, cereali, pane tostato, luppolo, resina e agrumi.

33cl bottle as a gift. Pours clear deep golden with a modest, dissipating head. Malty and somewhat caramelly aroma with lightly spicy notes and hints of ripe fruits and yeast. Medium sweet with mild fruity, caramelly and slightly spicy flavours. Less sweet than expected and a certain bitterness to balance. Enjoyable.
