Light bodied, almost watery, candied orange, light caramel and biscuit flavors. Easy drinker, it’s not sunset yet but this feels like the end of summer…

Back to great smelling IPAs, awesome! Tokyo Aleworkd Emerald Paradise IPA 7% Clear gold with wispy white foam that did not stick around. The aroma is great, mild citrus zest mixed in with great topical notes.medium bodied with a fairly dry finish. The taste is bitter woodsy herbal hops before some juicy tropical elements come in with balancing sweetness. Solid stuff.

Tokyo Aleworks x Fukuoka Brewing Hop Drop West Coast IPA 7% Beautiful clear gold with thick foam that didn’t linger. Unfortunately, the aroma has a bleach like disinfectant chemical edge to it. It’s making me scared to try it to be honest. The taste is similar, chlorine overpowering pine notes. I cannot believe this was intentional, it tastes like strong cleaners were used then something wasn’t rinsed properly. I don’t think I can drink this, I worry about possible health consequences. I think, I need to drain pour this…

Tokyo Aleworks Swipe Right APA 5.5% 35 IBU Simply lovely gold in color with thick white foam and a mouthwatering tropical mosaic/Citra aroma. Medium to light bodied with a dry finish. The taste is sweet papaya and guava tropicality with light bitter woodsy notes and a touch of dank mess in the finish. Really enjoyable, I double checked my invoice and it was less than 600¥ 😉 well worth it.

Tokyo Aleworks Devil’s Finger Red IPA 7% Apparently, made for the Shimokita Craft Beer Fest last fall. Great looking amber red with thick beige foam that lingers. It’s got a nice dank piney aroma with peppery sweet malt notes. Light bodied verging on watery but with a silky mouthfeel. Nice bitter pine, sweet malts with a tiny touch of zesty citrus. Nice stuff.

Tokyo Aleworks Well Chuffed Nitro English Pale Ale 4.5% 32 IBU Hazy orange-gold with dense white foam and a floral fruity hop aroma. Full bodied but not as smooth as I’d expect from a nitro beer. Malty sweet orange blossoms sums up my take on the flavor profile.

Tokyo Aleworks Where there’s a Pils, There’s a way DDH Pilsner 5.5% 25 IBU Beautiful clear gold with a nice tutti fruiti hop bouquet. Medium bodied with a scratchy carbonation and crackery pale malts added to yummy fruity hop goodness with great dryness. Nice stuff.

Tokyo Aleworks Maple Walnut Cookies Red Ale 5% 45 IBU Murky Amber gold with a HUGE sweet maple aroma. Medium bodied and silky smooth. The finish delivers on the walnut but maple is definitely the star of the show. Great fall beer. Taster at TASTY.

TAW X Inkhorn Crosshatch DIPA 8.5% 75 IBU A glowing copper gold color with a wisp of foam and a slightly boozy rich double ipa aroma featuring stone fruits, citrus and pine. Nice full body and raspy carbonation. The taste is a well balanced double ipa with a dry finish. Textbook example of the style and worth trying. Flight at the Yurakucho taproom.

TAW X WCB Hazy crazy JUICY IPA 6.5% 30 IBU Hazy straw gold with a wisp of bright white foam and quite a huge juicy aroma of tropical fruits: guava, mango and papaya. Medium bodied with a raspy mouthfeel. The taste is juicy but with dank overripe grapefruit pith. Ok. Flight at Tokyo Aleworks Yurakucho.
