Description
Started brewing in 1983 at that time based at the former Tockwith airfield. Moved to the Crown Hotel, Church Street, Kirk Hammerton, York, YO26 8DD in 1988. A 4BBL plant was used. Brewing ceased and since 2001 the beers have been produced at Rudgate. At the end of 2004 the brewery was officially taken over by Rudgate. Beers using this name ceased to be produced in about 2015.

Cask. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is nectar and wood mainly. Flavour is strong wood, some mild citrus fruits and also nectar. Quite sweet at first, just to turn bittery dry.

Clear golden with tiny white head. Sweet and fruity aroma with discrete hoppy an citric notes. Sweet and hoppy flavor with piney notes. Finishes bitter.

Cask at aberdeen Beer festival ... Nice Deep scarlet red/brown ... nice light aromatic fruit ... smooth tasty toasted malts and caramilised fruit.

Half pint on gravity at The 24th Ipswich Beer Festival. Clear golden with a low bubbly foam. Hoppy to the nose. Rounded light taste of fruit and malt. Short bitter finish. Very standard (22.09.2006).

Cask gravity at Dover BF 06. Copper with thin head. Sweetish aroma, with some caramel. Like a strong standard bitter with quite a nice hop bitter finish. Yes, really rather nice
