Description
The brewing tradition in Helsinki is hundreds of years old. The latest chapter of this story began in 1995 on the island of Suomenlinna right outside of the city. It is here that a one man brewery was founded in the former jetty barracks. The brewery has grown to be home for a small group of dedicated professionals, all passionate about beer culture in Finland. Now Suomenlinna Brewery is one of the largest local breweries in town.

The rich history at this UNESCO world heritage site has been the inspiration for many new beers at Suomenlinna Brewery. Each beer and cider we brew has its own story to tell. When professional attitude and modern technology are combined, the end results are bold, honest, high quality drinks. Our special releases are a sign of our inspiration to create and to try new things.

Draft. Hazy amber beer with a cream head. Fruity aroma. Citrus and tropical fruit flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Citrus and tropical fruit linger. Some lemon and slight dirtiness.

Mild smell of hops. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of grain, hops, wood. Flat carbon. Lightly bitter. Too woody.

Golden colour, steady small white head and lace. Cardboardish, a bit fruity aroma with hints of corn. Light-bodied. Malts, some breadyness, light fruits, low bitterness. Quite odd - not a typical Mexican lager flavour at all more like typical light Finnish pale lager.

Canned, from Vaasa. Cloudy straw colour, mid sized head. Aroma of grass, apricot and mango. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Grainy, fruity malt. Mango and pineapple. Husky bitter finish.

Canned, from Vaasa. Hazy amber, firm mid sized head. Aroma of dslty caramel, dates and bread. Sweet with full body and densem rounded mouthfeel. Syrupy bread, salt and hay. Resinous bitter finish with somewarmth.

50cl on tap at the brewery. Pours clear golden with a modest, white head. Malty and hoppy with mild citrusy notes. Moderate to medium sweet with fairly low flavour intensity and a bitterness on the lighter side.
