Poured from 341mL bottle @ Capri Caberet Cape Breton. Fucking around at an after hours bar. Why? Who knows… post wedding shenanigans. Garbage beer.

Soft cardboard and a bit of yellow wine gum on the nose. Quickly the head is gone leaving a very yellow body. Flavour is sharp bread and sawdust with a lemon finish. Carbonation is harsh on the tongue. This must be one of the lower end local brews.

From old tasting notes. Bright gold color. Big bubbles lead to a foamy white head. Clean, zesty fresh malt aroma. Tart hop flavor upfront. Faint dry bitter finish. Light dry aftertaste is brief. Lacks balance or any real character.

Bottle at Halifax Airport, NS. A pale straw beer with a loose white head; cereal grain aroma; rather thin with a sweet grainy taste and a light grassy bitterness. Instantly forgettable.

On tap at Governors Pub. Pours a clear light gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of straw with hay and a bit of corn underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and corn with a bit of an earthy straw supporting.

Update of old Tick from 2013. At University in the 80s, this is what you bought if you were going to a party, since nobody would drink it on you.

Update of old tick from 2013. Used to drive into NS from NB while at Uni to pick up either this or Keith's IPA as they were a better option than the local stuff.

Originally rated April 2004. I wonder if it was better when the Oland family brewed it. I enjoy light-tasting beers from time to time, but this one was not enjoyable. Miller High Life is much better !!

Originally rated July 2006. Sampled at Hooley’s on Elgin street in Ottawa. Poured a light blond with a good creamy head with decent retention and minimal lacing and hardly any carbonation. The nose is boring with a corn malt light scent. Crisp and watery mouthfeel. The taste is mild with sweet malt and has a grainy finish. Overall, boring ale, which I would take Molson’s Export before this one.
