Poured from 750mL bottle. Dark brown with almost no tan head. Nice bourbon character, but it does take away from (or maybe hides) the barley wine character of dark fruits and hint of caramel, which is just okay. Despite this, the bourbon character is nice.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of bourbon barrels, some toffee, and some dark fruits. Flavour is full of dark dried fruits, moderate bourbon barrels, and some toffee. Very fruity, with plenty of bourbon barrels and toffee. Not the most complex, but it's very deep and fruity. Good.

Dark brown, no head. There's a lot of fruitiness, light barrel, and on the palate it's quite fruity, has a soft barrel character, and then there's a decent body with a solid alcohol blast in the finish. Sticky and boozy.

750ml (thx, Tom B. for this bottle!) @ Matt's. Appearance: dark brown with a very weak tan head. Aroma: dark fruits, bourbon, sweetness, some fruity sours. Taste: along the same lines, quite boozy, toffee, lots of bourbon barrel presence. Overall: pretty good, a bit boozy, though.

Dark brown. No head. OK, so it's rich on the nose and has lots of maple and coffee. Quite powerful. On the palate, definitely rich and sticky. Soft coffee, light maple. Full body.

750ml (thx, Tom B. for picking this up and keeping it for so long!) @ Matt's. Appearance: very dark brown with a weak dark beige head. Aroma: lots of coffee, some green peppers, noticeable maple syrup. Taste: very thick, lots of coffee and maple syrup, finishing with chocolate. Overall: pretty nicely integrated coffee, maple syrup, and chocolate with some complexity added by barrel-aging that is not very prominent here. Good one.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is loaded with intense coffee upfront, followed by more subtle maple syrup, a little cocoa, and some bourbon barrel presence. Flavour expresses the different elements in a more balanced way; there's lots of coffee, maple syrup and cocoa, rounded out with by bourbon barrels. Nice blend of the maple syrup and coffee especially; the bourbon is more in the background, just adding some heat and warming effects. Very nice.

Tasting at Matt's slaughterhouse, can
Black colour, oily, no head. Aroma of chocolate and coconut (7.5). Thick mouthfeel, almost oily; good chocolate flavour, a bit salty, umami, light coconut, and pleasant alcohol warmth.
Very good.

16oz (thx a lot, Tom B. for getting and keeping it for such a long time during the pandemic!) @ Matt's parents' place with an unhidden scenic view. Appearance: dark brown with almost no head. Aroma: sweet, coconut, maybe some barrel. Taste: very thick and sweet, lots of cocoa, coconuts, bourbon barrel. Overall: very good, but because of being sludgy, it's not the best one from them IMHO. --- Beer merged from original tick of Feral Bones (2025) on 20 Jan 2025 at 20:40 - Score: 8. Original review text: Loads of coconut, some American oak, and chcocolate. Smells mostly like a Bounty bar
Moderately sweet. Taste is along the same lines. A bit earthy. Finishes with tones of nice coconut in chcocolate. Nice one.
