As just John Boston XPA. Can. Golden amber with a white head that's soon less than a coat. 3- Aroma of vague tropical fruit and citrus - rather boiled lolly like. Sweet with boiled and stewed fruit and bitterness that gradually oozes through. OK but feels heavier than its flavours justify.

Some pineapple and a tiny bit of passionfruit on the nose. Just some dull hops in the mouth for the most part.

330ml can into schooner glass. From BWS, Glen Innes. Golden amber beer, slight haze. swirling tiny bubbles. Solid head head of white foam. Aroma of light malt and fruit, very faint dank hops. Light body, quenching. Finish is lightly bitter and grassy. Fairly standard pale ale. I've given up guessing what an XPA is.

330ml bottle into shaker. Light aromas of pineapple and mango. Very pale cloudy yellow/green beer which pours with a HUGE foamy white head. Tiny bubbles ascend. Slightly bitter taste, flat mouthfeel. Finish is weak fruit cordial. Easy-drinking thirst quencher.

From a 330ml bottleon 4/10/2015. Pours a clear golden with a sall white head. The aroma features some grain and fruity esters, coming across a touch stale. Flavour wise there’s some bready malt and some sweet fruit, with a very modest bitterness finishing things off. Light bodied with average carbonation. A very mediocre, uninspiring pale ale.

330ml bottle into tulip. Fruity hop nose. Amber beer with fluffy white head. Light carbonation. Light mineral water taste. Finish is light hops, cardboard, cooked vegetables, distant lemon. Drinkable but a bit too watery.

(Bottle) Clear yellow with transient thin loose white head. Unpleasant aroma of damp cardboard with hints of candy. Palate is light, fizzy and refreshing, but not refined. Taste is better than the aroma suggests, but it isn’t good. It starts with some fairly thin watery maltiness - but it doesn’t come over as all high quality malted barley. Then in the mid palate this already thin taste falls away to a vague watery tartness, from which develops some bitterness for the finish; unfortunately it’s not a pleasant bitterness. Drinkable, but I won’t have another.

(Bottle) Clear pale gold with transient loose head. Fairly unpleasant aroma with corn, cardboard and some floral hints. Light body, coarse carbonation. Unpleasant taste - odd corn grain flavour with a little nondescript acidity at start and some harsh bitterness in finish. A beer to avoid (maybe they are trying to recreate the original 1796 corn and apple stick recipe?).
