Description
"Alma" is the original word for the apple. In Spanish, "Alma" means soul, and in Latin, it means nurturing spirit. What does Alma mean to us? It means we put our soul and our spirit into knowing and respecting the land, growing the best possible fruit, and making the highest quality Cider.

Clear 500ml from Press online. Survived the heat while some bottles didn't. Three days in the fridge. Pint glass at home.
Clear, if slightly dull, straw gold; thin & weak, oily head.
Floral, fusel quince & pears upfront. Saline, rose, oaky apple, old onion, plastic nose.
Bittersweet pear, only lightly floral in taste. More so sweet onion, rose water & odd citrus pith from the quince. Mellow acid, med-light tannins & some light astringency try & round things out. Tart final that creeps as it warms.
Nearly flat & unsure what's intended. Very thin & watery, some hidden acidity, belly burn, with just a bit of oily residual on the tongue.
A little bland.

Clear 500ml bottle from Press online. Shelf sleep. Mojito glass @home. Buttery, earthy, vanilla, slightly acid-y cider, mellow bourbon nose. Semi-sweet, tart skin, medium high acid. Obvious warming, maybe just a bit too much buttery bourbon. Subtle itch carbonation, thin & tacky feel, acidy belly. Big flavor for only 5%. Good. Just lacking better apples.

500ml brown bottle from Press online. Cellar sleep for three months. Stemless wineglass @home. Clear, honey gold, faintly active pour. Smell is macerated, bold floral, tea, sweet, browned/caramelized pears. Heavy caramelization, tart-dry-aromatic apples, strong acid, Lipton tea, varnish harshness, still leaning dry despite the pear sweetness on the backdrop. Strong forced carb, thin, stubby. Good & better than the base(or maybe it's all a lie).

Bottle from Press online. Pint glass back @home. Clear, MGD, sizzling pour. Lychee, rose, watermelon, bittersweet apple nose. Bittersweet, sweet pine, dessert fruit, melon, arugula fresh. Low hostility, dried preserved fruit, lingering old lady rose. Medium low carb. Easy. Good & fine, if too pedestrian.

500ml from Press online. Mojito glass @home. Clear, pale, orange amber, active pour. Smells like a Macintosh took a bath in some lemon juice. Sweet & floral red skin apples meets some diluted battery acid. Taste is bitter-tart apples, grape must, sparkling tonic water. Apple peel, sour red table grapes, bitter lettuce. Bite-y, floral, lemon, sulfite dust & quinine. It's just harsh & needs something more complex to tell me what to feel. Thin, fizzy, cleansing my innards. Waiting till it falls flat might get you to finish the bottle. Acid belly burn. That's rare. I wanted to more than like this, but it's brutal & only good in small doses. . Edit: This actually was a decent quaff once the co2 wore off, so +3/10ths.

Bottle from the Press online shop, among others. Mojito glass @home after a few weeks settling in the fridge. Clear, pale straw pour, lightly frothy. Incredibly perfume-y, grassy, curious sweet rose/eucalyptus blend & maybe some lychee gummy on the nose. Have had several quince beverages, but they all smell so unique. Taste is a 180. Tart apple, familiar astringency & oregano, pomegranate pith, sour health smoothie, kinda green onion-y. Just tastes potently... green. Carbonation is thankfully frothy, feel is not quite thin but constantly abrasive & drying as only quince can be. Tonic level booziness. Fun & odd at the same time.

500ml bottle #2 from Press. Mojito glass @home. . Clear, metallic, pale gold. Almost flat pour. Sharp & bittergreen nose. Fresh potting soil, sour & unripe fruit. Bittersweet, sorta earthy, leaning sweet. Dessert apples, skin, watery pineapple, herbs, saline, dried fruit, sulfite dust. Thin, low carb, a touch empty & as a result, boozy. Dud.

500ml bottle from Press. Clear, slightly jellied, medium deep gold with a fizzy soda head. Some fish food on the second pour. Grassy, sharp, vinous, slightly berry nose with a touch of brandy. Taste is very astringent & grassy from the start. Tart, upfront cherry pits, lime, bitter lettuce, white wine, saline. White grapefruit pith & popsicle stick finish. Thin & hyper fizzy. Felt like I was drinking a cider. Never had a perry this dry.
