Friday 19th Feb 2021; Family Beer Festival, three of us sharing a random selection of cans and bottles in my home bar. 330ml bottle; BB15th Dec 2021, came to me via Beer52. Cloudy body, dirty gold in colour, white froth on top. Light wheaty nose with the usual banana and clove esters this style can often give. No where near the best Wheat Ale I have had (not had many to be fair; this is my 59th so far); not the worst either!

[33cl bottle from Beer52.] A cloudy amber pour with a close cream head; typical weisse beer aroma, of banana and clove; quite lively in the mouth with some orangey citrus and a sweetish wheat body; then a sweet banana finish, with the grassiness of the hops adding a little dryness at the very end.

Bottle from Beer 52. Some banana in the aroma, but it’s mainly hops and nuts. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a very transient minimal white head. In the mouth it starts of fruity (oranges, peach) before bitter hops kick in, with alcoholic strength very evident. Some banana and cloves appear after the hops have gone. Finish is sweet and malty. Overall it’s reasonable but a bit strange. I wonder who actually brewed it ?

330ml bottle from Beer52: BB 15th Dec 2021. Dirty, dull orange body, no head. Nose holds some banana esters and a wheat aroma, taste is along the same lines, add in some cloves and vanilla, this giving it a traditional feel style wise. This is fairly sweet too, another trait of the style (not that I am an expert, this is only my 14th Weizenbock). Anyway I like the style of beer and I enjoyed this.

Can from Beer52. Cloudy blond colour with a large lasting white head and a light fizz. Lemon and flowers with some white bread. A hint of pine. Moderate bitterness and light dryness in the finish. A mellow, laid-back kind of brew; not huge on flavour but very drinkable and more-ish nevertheless.
