In Year 1916 property was acquired by family of Magierkiewicz and stayed under their management till breakout of World War II. Brewery was functioning in times of German occupation providing working space for the local population.
Next owner was family of Blusiewicz, which was running the brewery in years 1947-1951. In the end of 1951 Brewery was nationalized and incorporated into Brewery Department of Lodz. In the brake of 1996 and 1997 family of Blusiewicz reclaimed their rights to Brewery and begun beer production as a family company under the name of Browar Staropolski.Modernization of the Brewery allowed to increase the production power up to 100 thousands hectoliters of beer per year.
The end of XX century was a very successful year for the Brewery and management decided to export their products to USA and UK, where it become very popular among Britons and American Poles. Brewery was sold in 2007 due to the weak strategy in fighting for the consumer on the brewery market, at that time mainly dominated by large corporations. Following years were very difficult for Staropolski Brewery, which resulted in Brewery bankruptcy.
In 2014 Brewery was bought by Dystrybucja Pomorze, private limited company.

Barwa rubinowa w kierunku pomarańczowego. Piana średnia, szybko opada, ładnie oblepia szkło. W aromacie lane piwo z syropem do piwa, bardzo słodko. W smak strasznie słodkie, syrop malinowy, może i pigwowy. Lekko nieprzyjemny posmak.

Bottle from local Polish supermarket in Bedford. Reddish brown, very translucent with a small and quickly disappearing off-white head. Otherwise flat. Cola, caramel malt aroma. Very sweet, with the taste of cheap malt. Weak, weak body. Not great.

Can shared with Keukeman. Hazy light orange color, average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, a bit grainy, a bit metallic, sweetish. Low to average body and carbonation. Meh.

Barwa złota, dość mętne. Piana gęsta lecz szybko opada, ładny lacing. W aromacie słodki, aż mdły kokos, jak krem do rąk o tym zapachu. Dodatkowo lekka wanilia. W smaku czuć słodycz syropu, do tego oczywiście kokos. Zamulające, zbyt słodkie.

Barwa złota, klarowne. Biała piana, dość drobna, umiarkowanie trwała. W aromacie słodowe, trochę płyn do mycia naczyń i skunksik. W smaku słodowe, słodkawe, lekka nuta chmielowa. Wysokie wysycenie, goryczka do średniej, treściwość średnia, dobra pijalność. Jedno z najlepszych piw z zielonych butelek, nie jest aż takie puste, po prostu przeciętny lager.

Many thanks for this beer to Grzesiek79. Pours a hazy golden color. Grainy and corny aroma with a bit of cardboard, kinda vegetal with very faint grassy hints.
