Description
With Forest Road, what you see is what you get. We don’t have big investors. We’re not owned by a multinational corporation. We started on a tiny kit in an East London backyard, and we’ve grown through hard work.

What we work hardest at is the quality of our beer. When we heard that one of the world’s greatest breweries - Russian River in Northern California - was selling its brewhouse, we knew we had to get our hands on it. We worked night and day to raise the cash, sailed it through the Panama Canal and now it has a new home, here in London.

330ml can from National Brewery Centre, Burton on Trent. Unsure what makes this posh. Tastes a little odd, caramelly and a touch oxidised. Light bodied. Think I prefer non-posh lager.

Ebony. Persistent head with large and uneven bubbles. Fine taste of dark chocolate, moderately toasted coffee, pine and roasted malt. Moderate bitterness. Good drinkability! From cask at Hole in the Wall, Waterloo, London, 16.01.22.

Keg at Forest Road Taproom, half pint shared with Finn. Lacing rings down the glass from a stable white head, unclear dark golden body. Promising fruity smell of peaches and mango. Solid taste profile of mango and apricot, juicy malts beneath. Fruity ending with satisfying bitterness. Fine depth. Likable. (London 17.11.2021).

Keg at Forest Road Taproom, half pint shared with Finn. A white tophead over a clear amber body, rich lacing. Malt-fruity aromas, hints of herbal hops and light caramel malts. The taste profile follows suit with caramel, herbal hops and a vibe of biscuit. Developing bittersweet ending. Medium bodied. Quite pleasing. (London 17.11.2021).

Keg at Forest Road Taproom, half pint shared with Finn. Misty pale golden body, bubbly white head, spotty lacing. Inviting ripe citrus nose. Flavoured with lemoy hops and an orange twist. Refreshing citrus ending, short lived. Decent session qualities. (London 17.11.2021).

Keg at Forest Road Taproom, half pint shared with Finn. Fair white head to a clear late straw coloured body, crocheted lacing on the glass. Moderate smell of grainy malts, a note of ripe fruits as well. Mixed taste character of herbal hops and cereal malts. Dry, pale malty end. Okay lager version. (London 17.11.2021).

330ml can bought at Juicy Trap (aka Offie & Toffee). Shared with Finn. Creamy white head leaving spotty lacing on the glass, hazy yellow body. Moderate smell of grassy hops, citric hints to it. Mild hop fruity taste of citrus and grass. Prolonged ending, short. Crispy in the mouth. Accepted. (Hotel room, Bethnal Green, London 15.11.2021).
