Draft at Snallygaster 2024. Poured a orange juice color with a very small white head. Aroma was huge amount of tropical fruit. Tastes like a smoothie with pineapple and guava in particular, mango as well. Juicy light tartness.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy yellow pour, creamy white head. Citrusy, floral aroma. Taste offers a hint of grapefruit, floral notes, with a pillowy, creamy mouthful. Soft, a zesty bite that lingers. Really nice.

Opaque, quite pale, thin head. The kiwi hop is a big vague on the aroma, but brighter on the palate, even while battling strong alcohol. That's a solid nelson profile, with a bit of lychee in there for fun. The malt is there, and it definitely tastes stronger than it is, which isn't really in line with the principles of good balance for me.

Inky pour, near black, and no head. The aroma is just rich stuff, dark bitter chocolate, demerara sugar, and then a whack of brandy. This is big, muscular but there's some good dark sugar notes that bring refinement. The barrel lends dryness, a neat woody, brandy character. The two elements are both powerful, so they play off of each other fairly well, which ultimately means that the quality of the base makes the beer. Excellent.

500mL bottle. Pours black with no head. Aroma has big brandy barrel up front, some dark malts underneath, a touch of espresso. Flavour has a ton of rich brandy barrel over a rich base stout, strong espresso. This is very rich and enjoyable. Excellent.

500mL bottle, pours jet black like motor oil with a tiny head. Aroma is extremely rich, with intense dark sugars, molasses, plenty of barrel -- though I'm not sure I would've picked up brandy barrels. Flavour is very rich and complex, with huge brandy barrel depth, intense molasses, dark sugars, and a touch of toffee. That brandy character is phenomenal. Residual sugar is low for the style -- the barrel dominates. Wonderful, elegant slow sipper.

Pours a hazy, pineapple-gold, with smallish head. Aroma is rather muted, with some citrus, some stonefruit. Flavors follow. Mouthfeel seems a touch on the thin side. Moderate hop bitterness through the finish.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted, some toasted, mild nutty and some toasted tones. Flavour is toffee, some roasted, smoked and mildly liquorice tones with a huge wooden finish.
