12 oz. can purchased at 7 Eleven Kittery, ME. Fresh: canned 4/18/2016. Color is indeed brown, fast fleeting head, no lacing. Aroma is nutty, mild roasted barley, hints of molasses.
The flavor shows the mild roasted barley and molasses as the base. Mild ale yeast and a solid amount of nuttiness that lingers slightly. Very light chocolate hints. The texture become dry. Body is average for the style. Not sure I get granola here. To make this a short and sweet summary: pretty well executed brown ale.

Tap at Jeffrey this brew has been on my radar for a bit glad I got to try. Lovely Amber copper pour beige head with legs. Nose is Rosemary light malt. I thought Rosemary was huge on palate and I had a cold, some caramel, malt, and fairly hoppy, touch of soft wheat to finish. Interesting for sure I’d recommend.

Draft at Beer Authority. Clear orange, white head, medium lace. Rye/spice aroma, earth, and some pine. Flavor is medium bitter to front with a rye/spice finish. Light bodied, eat drinking, not watery. Tingly finish. Solid.

Draught at Hop Haus, 12/12/15.
Deep copper-amber liquid is clear with a beige head atop that is small and moderately retained.
Not much in the nose....brown sugar, maybe a hint of cinnamon with plenty of earthiness and light herbal hop notes. No alcohol or flaws, however.
Sweet in the mouth, with ample carbonation and a very sticky/nearly syrupy texture. Sweet notes of caramel, brown sugar, starchy vegetables and vanilla with light cinnamon and a touch of black pepper. Some mildly bitter hops and a bit of earthiness are the only things keeping this from being cloying. Not underfermented, but the malt selection (there are like 4 different types of cara malts in this thing) is ridiculous on top of adding the squash as well. Difficult to drink much of it. Little/no saison aspects either.

Draft at Fool's Gold, 12/5/15. Sweet malts and spice. Not the autumn/pumpkin bouquet I was expecting, but still quite a bit of spice. Pours orange with a spotty lacing. Flavor is a mix of spice with some alright hops. Kinda odd but kinda works too. Decent beer.

So ordered this at Gingerman and when it came thought it must have been mistake. But its a black saison apparently not sure what that means but i’ll list as saison unless an admin wants to change. murky brown pour. nose is coffee and straw. tastes of coffee, chocolate, hoppy, belgian yeast, straw. some florals, and wood, there is a barnyard element to it. smooth palate. odd duck
