Tap at If It Ain't Dutch... Opaque dark. Creamy beige head. Aroma has dark fruity with a light boozy edge. Flavourwise it's got the barrel. Plus dark fruit sweetness. Bitter edge. Medium bodied. Slick to oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish.

From the sterk, Amsterdam, bottled during the year 2017. Enjoying this beer on friday, after a walk at Evian. A tasty and generous imperial stout, rather like, not disgusting, roasted malt, woody, oak barrel, vanilla, coffee, hop, powerful and aromatic, 29.05.22

From the sterk, Amsterdam, during one of my first trip there, bottled in 2018. Drinking it yesterday, during the afternoon, before to see my son for the Christmas, at school. Imperial stout with a dominant note of Scottish whisky, smoked, woody, roasty, 17.12.24

It is a really dry and mineral stout with a touch of smocked malt, some hop, few roasted malt for the style, between a dunkel and a stout, 26.01.18, at Hoofdroop.

Inmiddels al weer zo'n 2,5 jaar op de plank, dus de fles heeft inmiddels genoeg stof verzameld (zie foto). Schenkt vrijwel helder, diep roodbruin, met een fijne licht beige schuimkraag waar een dun laagje van overblijft. Geur is zoetig, rood fruit, rozijn, fruitige alcohol, donkere karamel. Retronasaal ook veel fruit, zoetig, boozy, iets houtig. Smaak is zoetig (lang niet zo zoet als verwacht van de geur), fruit-zurig, wijnig, lichte bitteheid. Alcohol is behoorlijk warmend, maar toch niet te scherp. Zachte koolzuur. Afdronk is wat bitterig, houtig. Niet slecht, maar ook niet geheel overtuigend.

Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Coffee, vanilla, roasted malt. Taste: Blend of coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, Bourbon, oak wood. Earthy. Moderate to over moderate sweet and bitter. Creamy mouthfeel. Full body, below average carbonation. Nice one.
