(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 25 Feb 2026) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee, caramel and toffee. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate truffles, sweet black coffee, caramel, toffee, burnt sugar and a balanced cacao bitterness in a sweet and warming finish. Almost full body, quite sweet. Rich, tasty and chocolatey. Very nice.

33 cl. can @ home, bought online @ Mr. Hop.
Black with a beige head. Heavy coffee aroma with citrus hops and vanilla.
Sweet taste with a sweet roasted finish. Never had an Espresso Martini before but if it tastes anything like this I'm willing to try.

Bottle from Nettorama. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Wheat malt, yeasty, Port notes. Taste: Wheat malt, yeasty notes, some citrus fruit, subtle vinuous Port notes, herbal coriander. Just over medium body, just below average carbonation. Less refreshing than the other variants of this beer. Moderate sweet, light bitterness. Ok overall.

Bottle @ Herøya. Pitch black body under a fading beige head. Lovely aroma of dark, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, some wood, dry fruit and mild whisky. Taste is just the same as aroma with balanced bitterness in addition, not too sweet. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste and distinct coffee finish. Rally, really nice.

75cl Fles van Nettorama Boxmeer. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag.

Bottle from Nettorama. Color: Lightly hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Malty, herbal, juniper. Taste: Malty, wheat malt, yeasty notes, fruity esters (stone fruit, citrus), herbal, juniper, some almond. Herbal / spicy Jenever finish. Nice one, although the original Witbier is overwhelmed by the barrel ageing. Just over medium body, just below average carbonation.

Bottle from Nettorama supermarket. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Coriander, wheat malt, vinuous hints. Taste: Blend of wheat malt, coriander, some banana and stone fruit esters, vinuous Chardonnay / grape notes, some oak wood. Light boozy hints. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Moderate sweet and light bitterness. Pretty nice example of the extra flavors and complexity you can get from barrel ageing.

At the beginning, it was not that bad, but after some sips, there is a taste of something burnt, rough and not fruity with the rye, 28.01.18, at Hoofdroop, buying it at one Albert Heijn
