Description
Blue Lobster Brewing Company will be coming to Hampton, New Hampshire in 2012! Featuring fine craft beers from Michael and Roberta Benoit, Blue Lobster will become a common sight in your favorite local restaurants and bars.
Michael and Roberta have been crafting beer for 30 years (okay, so Michael crafts it, but Roberta helps design and drink it). After many years of wandering the country in exotic places like Texas, California, and for the last 12 years Oregon, they are looking forward to bringing their unique, locally-inspired brews to New Hampshire. Blue Lobster will feature small batch specialty brews, as well as more traditional beers - all served in our own tasting room AT the brewery.

Hazy orange with a solid white fluffy head Smells like grapefruit and dragon fruit. Very juicy on the nose Wow. Holy crap. Big juicy citrus, chewy dank pine bark and a very dry earthy finish. Holy moly. Wow. Medium body, very impressive

Growler schlepped back from the seacoast by my brother in law, thanks for the opportunity Dave! Pours a deep amber color with a decent white head that slowly recedes before leaving some spotty lace on the sides. Smells of pine and resin with a hint of green onion. Bits of bread and caramel peak out of the nose as well as a fleeting hint of alcohol when swirled in the glass. The flavor starts off with a solid bready caramel malt backbone that quickly surrenders to an assault of resinous dankness. Moderate bitterness fly’s in midway to finish and lingers long after every sip. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a bitter resinous mouthfeel. This is a nice double IPA, I enjoyed it. The bitterness is at times harsh, that could be dialed down a little bit, but I’d buy a glass of this.

Growler at Wally’s - big thanks to the host! Pours black-brown with a tight, tan foam head. Lots of charred cocoa in the nose. Medium sweet flavor with robust roasted malts, light coffee, earth, bitter burnt wood, light milk chocolate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Fairly bitter to finish with lots of bittersweet baking cocoa, burnt earth, charred wood, burnt grass. Decent stuff though a touch too bitter at the end. Lots of charcoal and ash linger.

Growler thanks to Wally. Pours clear copper, lightly effervescent with a fine, frothy white head. Dry caramel and toasty pine on the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with moderate, piney bitterness, toasty bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous finish, still more dry pine, toast, some orange citrus. Nice stuff on the whole.

Light amber and caramel appearance. Light head. Nose is lots of floral and citrus aroma. Hint of pine and malt nose Taste is hearty but has an approachable balance with malt, honey and some birch texture. Great hop presence and overall mouthfeel

Oily black 2 finger off white head fades to some gorgeous lacing Nose is lots of smoked malts and some bakers chocolate with some hint of licorice Taste is really nice. Great balance of smoke and chocolate and decent caerbonation. Not as full bodied as expected but most importantly, a dark beer that’s highly drinkable without being too smoky or malty

Bright golden with a 2 finger white head fades fast Citra hops, tangerines and navels. Sort of a grassy nose Lovely citrus zest and grassy notes. Very bright and sessionable. Nothing overwhelming and goes down easy. I could drink this all day
