Description
At Plan Bee Farm Brewery our mission is to brew 100% New York State ingredient beer. We source all our ingredients from the state of New York with many grown on site. Our beers go from ground to glass within measurable feet of their origins. Our goal is to work with local businesses to produce a delicious product for the community we serve.
At Plan Bee Farm Brewery, our beers are created by the limitation of local resources. From the yeast we cultivate from our honey comb, to the grain and hops in our fields, if it isn’t in our community it doesn’t enter our beer.
Today, brewers talk about ‘local’ craft beer while sourcing ingredients from around the world. At Plan Bee Farm Brewery, we define ‘local’ as that which grows in New York State, if not on our farm. Over the course of the next few years we will work tirelessly to reduce the radius of our sourced ingredients. The goal is to be able to say, “I planted & processed everything in this beer personally.”

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Dry and funky with notes of grain, straw, lemon, barnyard funk. Tart and medium sour, with a little acidity in the finish. Dry, funky, sour.

375mL undated bottle drunk 3/28/26.
A bit toasty, a bit bready, but with a good, round fruitiness showing currants and figs and dates and such. Lots of spotaneous-like culture without any huge, punchy acidity, yet not sure that the roasted wheat is helping things much, as it does add a rather toasty dryness that the beer seems to already have covered.
Slight roast, chocolate, chewy wheat and lactic acidity. Nice that you can pick out the chocolatey, roasted wheat, and the beer seems lower in acidity to accommodate this rather dry, toasty flavor. Even a bit of herbal hop character thrown in the mix which adds to the complexity. Low but fairly engaging carbonation and a wheat-forward texture with good attenuation. This is a damned decent beer and it's just a shame that dark saisons/dark mixed culture beers don't seem to work quite as inherently well as their pale counterparts. A lot to respect here, though.

On tap at Goblet Zagreb. Hazy yellow coloured, small white head that went away fast, fruity and light bretty nose. Tartish fruity, light peachy, bretty and citrusy with funky notes in the finish.

Bottle poured into a tall tulip.
Appearance: yellow transparency, one finger white foamy head, barely any lace
Aroma: some Brett, some vinous character, woody & grassy tones, funky/earthy tones
Flavor: sour to tart throughout, barely any aftertaste but seemed somewhat vinous
Texture: light to medium bodied, not sessionable at all - this is totally a sipper! Semi-dry vinous and woody finish
Overall: a very nicely done American wild ale, well worthy of having again.

Bottle picked up at a shop in Cologne. Hazed light straw colour. Decent white foam stays the course. Nose has oak and soft brett. Lemon and lime peel and zest. Hint of vanilla. Taste is dry and lightly bitter. Crisp bright light mouthfeel with fine foamy carbonation. Lean bitter finish. Super drinkable.

Aw yeah, this one I was excited for, tons of pepper notes, pepper nose, but a tight crisp finish. Refreshing and flavorful! Hints of fruitiness and wheat. No fear of spice here!
