Description
At Plan Bee Farm Brewery our mission is to brew 100% New York State ingredient beer. We source all our ingredients from the state of New York with many grown on site. Our beers go from ground to glass within measurable feet of their origins. Our goal is to work with local businesses to produce a delicious product for the community we serve.

At Plan Bee Farm Brewery, our beers are created by the limitation of local resources. From the yeast we cultivate from our honey comb, to the grain and hops in our fields, if it isn’t in our community it doesn’t enter our beer.

Today, brewers talk about ‘local’ craft beer while sourcing ingredients from around the world. At Plan Bee Farm Brewery, we define ‘local’ as that which grows in New York State, if not on our farm. Over the course of the next few years we will work tirelessly to reduce the radius of our sourced ingredients. The goal is to be able to say, “I planted & processed everything in this beer personally.”

750mL bottle drunk 1/20/18.
Lightly-to-minimally hazy, drab brass-golden with a spotty/rocky white head atop.
Nose is a good mix of well-integrated adjuncts light-to-moderate Brett fruitiness and moderate lactic acid with soft honey-like malts, bits of cereal and light citrus on the finish. None of the adjuncts here are overdone and although it's quite citrusy and floral, it never gets too heavily so. No big perfume or soap notes and no astringent herbal quality. Somewhat spiced saison-like, with lots of white pepper, herbage and only gentle mixed fermentation notes.
In the mouth it's incredibly soft, with low, fairly engaging carbonation and good attenuation but yet still gentle sweetness to balance the citrus, floral and pepper notes of the adjuncts. Lingering lemon-lime, white bread, honey and gentle lactic acidity all seem pretty harmoniously integrated. No alcohol or flaw.

Five Boro Craft Beer Fest: pours cloudy gold with white head. Aroma is funk, fruit and ginger. Taste is lightly sour. Funky. Small ginger notes. Quite good. Carrots always make for good beer.

Aged on chocolate mint? Nose and front feel more like this was the spawn of a mint demon that ate a chocolate bar for breakfast a week ago. Also left with a weird malt aftertaste for long after. Sorry, mint chocolate should stick with stouts.

750 ml bottle. Aroma is peaches (almondy pits in particular), wood, vanilla, peppery. Pours hazy bright golden with lots of floaties and a one finger white head that falls somewhat quickly into a ring. Taste is extremely sour (5/5) and acidic, lemony, peachy, wood, funk. Maybe the most sour beer I've ever had. Good stuff.

Bottle at Dan's 10K tasting - thanks to New Ken. It pours crazy cloudy golden with a small white head. The aroma is soft, fresh, tart, tangy, juicy, honey cake, lemon - lime, sherbet and vanilla. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, tangy, sugary, sherbet, bright acidity, bright, some spice and some citrus fruits with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Bright, tart and tangy. Good fun.

Bottle drunk 12/1/17.
Lightly-to-minimally hazy, pale, straw-golden with a small covering of white foam.
Neither adjunct stands out in the nose, but rather light Brett acids and a moderate amount of lactic character keep things bright and lightly citrusy. Cereal grain behind it is augmented by a touch of honey-like maltiness, as light saison esters (apple, pear) as well as white pepper and soft mineral dot the end.
Tart, but lightly and pleasingly so, with just a mild touch of lavender mixing with other pepper phenols. Soft malts are quite dry, but still add some balancing sweetness, while light Brett funk emerges mores strongly as it warms/breathes. Engaging, tight carbonation and no alcohol, flaw or out-of-place/dominant adjunct character. Well-aged and everything seems pretty harmonious. Been quite impressed with Plan Bee thus far.
