Dark brown. Creamy and oaty. Not the most complex of porters, but nice. ..

If you can try this cask-conditioned, don't miss it. Tasted very fresh, soft, and clean. Soft floral flavors were indicate of plenty of hops. Hop aftertaste lingered. Extremely drinkable. Light cloudy yellow color.

Strangely pilsnerish to me. Esp reminiscent of Sam Adam's Golden Pilsner. Punchily bitter in an unpleasant way, with little detectable hop flavor. Harsh hop aroma. Unbalanced bitterness masks malt and any hop flavoring. Very pale (as per named) yellow ale, with slight head and med carb.

I don't buy the description above. Its not really very Belgiany at all, and although it had a nice, interesting sweet flavor, I found it lacking in body and flavor. Aroma was sweet - color is orangish brown but lighter than I'd like. Its only Belgiany trait was that it vaguely resembled the unique Orval, but I'd call it Orval Lite at best.

An exceptionally well balanced ESB, with good malt sweetness paired with a background of bitterness. There's also a nice hint of hop aroma. Maybe a bit lacking on body for an ESB but other very good.

Bright golden. Toasty, herbal, spicy aroma. Clean yeast character, faint pale malts and a little bit of spiciness. Also some yeast and minerals. Quick, refreshing.
Old notes (2000: Beige with a spicy, yeasty-fruity aroma, the carbonation is spritzy but forceful, and the palate showing the malty-yeasty-spicy combination of a grisette, but lighter in body. 7 3 6 3 14 = 3.3

A rather unusually caramel-tasting bitter, but quite good...................
