22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/9/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, caramel, light toast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, caramel, light toast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange zest, pine, honey, caramel, light toast, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 2/13/15
Aroma: It has a clean, malt-forward aroma, slightly fruity, some buttery notes, nuts
Appearance: Pours a clear reddish-orange color with an off-white head and some streaky lace
Flavor: Flavor is along the same lines, a decent mix, with some slightly off flavors as well
Palate: The body light-medium, with an okay mouthfeel, and a slightly sticky finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one was pretty unexciting. Feels okay, but also feels slightly flawed. Not bad, not great.

Bottle. Deep brown-black body, thick, slowly dissipating, dense light brown head. Very rich, sweet nose with lots of raisin and fig, coffee bean, toasted marshmallow, bourbon and tannic oak and some alcohol warmth. The body greets the palate with some prickly heat before quickly opening up to rich, layered plums, figs, grape, and coffee beans, finishing with more prickly heat. Sticky with a dense sweet flavor profile. Reminds me of Bell’s Expedition Stout, which is never a bad thing. In fact, a very good thing. Fantastic beer!

bottle. Very balanced and smooth IPA. Add it to the "all around" IPAs that I could drink every day

12 O bottle pour. Pours a reddish brown color with no lace or head. Nutty, malty aroma. Flavor shadows the aroma. This beer for me was just alright. Nothing special stood out. Semi empty finish to it. I wouldn’t call this bad, but maybe expected a bit more. Interesting style though. A little different.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Melville Superstar Beverage, 11/30/14
Aroma: The nose is sweet caramel malts with some citrus and a little bit of pine as well
Appearance: It pours a clear darker orange color with a clean off-white head and plenty of sticky lacing
Flavor: The flavor is lightly sweet, with a medium hop bitterness that leads to later, more bitter close
Palate: The body is medium, it has a little stickiness, a bit of heat, and a long, dry finish
Overall Impression: This one wasn't a favorite for me in the style or overall. It just feels a little flawed and lacking overall. It isn't a terrible beer, but in a crowded style like this, it just isn't as good as it's competition.
