Bottle. Pours a thick and dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas are odd... burnt malt, espresso, a little dark fruit and I’d swear there’s a little oatmeal... Two main currents drive the flavor: a dark burnt flavor (peat, charcoal, espresso) and a sweet cream/vanilla flavor. The two go together very well and take turns pulling the palate around.

Bottle from a trade with phaleslu. Pours slightly hazy orangish color with off white head. Aromas of grapefruit and caramel malts. Bitter grapefruit rind flavor with a hefty amount of sweet maltiness and some alcohol. Chewy body with moderate carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Thanks Peter.

Sample at Brew Kettle. This beer is a clear pale orange color with a thin white head that evaporates to an outer ring quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Mild spices in the nose along with some malty notes. Light body with perfumy hops, spice and malt flavors. The finish is crisp and lightly hoppy, leaving a mildly bitter aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Sample at Brew Kettle. Pours black with a medium light brown head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Full body with flavors of roasted coffee, sweet malt, chocolate and nuts. The finish is chocolatey with an espresso aftertaste. This is a good Imperial Stout all around.

Sample at Brew Kettle. This brew is a clear dark amber color with a thin and compact off-white head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of earthy malt and caramel plus a touch of hops. Rich, sweet body with notes of peaty malt, earth and woody hops. Warming alcohol in the background as well. The finish is sweet caramel malt with an earthy aftertaste. Decent hybrid style overall.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a fading white head. Aroma of chocolate, grain, and rye. Taste is dry, rye and chocolate. Grainy. Kind of boring. Light bubbles. Well hidden alcohol.

Bottle. Body is a fairly dark brown with some red showing through around the edges... it is fairly thin-looking, in spite of its dark color. There wasn’t much of a hiss when I popped the cap and there isn’t much of a head, especially after a half minute or so. Aromas of dark fruit, a little bit of earth and nuts... pretty mild. Flavor is much fuller... quite a bit of a cola like taste in there, with some jammy dark fruit, a little bit of an earthy presence, some astringent alcohol... not bad, but a bit rough at times. This is pretty thin on the palate, but there is enough sweetness that it covers pretty well.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head over a slightly hazy yellow body. Aroma of pine, tangerine and grassiness. Taste is tangerine, pine, grass and apricot. Quite fresh and hoppy. Creamy carbonation, low residual sugars and some alcohol.

Bomber. Pours an orangish gold with a little bit of a head and aromas of pine, mango and apple juice. Flavor has a lot of malt (apple and caramel) sweetness up front that then gives way to an herbal/medicinal pine finish. Alcohol is obvious and warming. Merry Christmas!
