20 year old bottle from Sloth! Big cocoa tone. Not much carbonation, rather flat. Oily, roasty, deep chocolate malts. Reminds me of Dutch Craft beer from the same era, rich and depthful malts. Holds up reasonably well, all things considered, probably more enjoyable than a 10 week old hazy. Thanks!!!!

A 2005 trade from Dorwart, finally opened. Some raisin and plum in the nose, a bit of oxidized sherry, but nothing I wouldn't expect of a 17 year old beer that's been through 2 moves. The look in the glass is a bit thin. Not much on bubbles, just a few of them along the edge. Taste is pretty dry, but still a bit of plum brandy, slight sour cherry. Some sludge in the bottom that I'll decant out in a bit. Resolves to a dry red wine note. The only thing I'm disappointed in is my holding on to these vintage beers, and should go through more of them while I still can.

Bottle from Dickinsonbeer. Almost black colored, foamy head. Pepper, cinnamon, raisin and chocolate in the aroma. Thin with an upcoming apple sourness. pepper and cinnamon in the flavor. Apple, pear and raisin. perhaps a bit overaged, but a very nice beer, a pleasant and tasty surprise.

Bottel from Dinkinsonbeer, thanks! Orange brown color, no head. Ginger, orange marmelade and a hint of smoke in the aroma. A most odd combination of fruity sourness and smoke in the flavor. Orange marmalade, twigs, ginger, raspberry, lemon and grapefruit sourness. Rye. Syrupy mouthfeel. Some mango and pear sweetness. I love this rather complex beer!

2005 bottle. Dark brown color. Pedro Ximenez sherry, salty notes, maple syrupand a hint of oak in the aroma. Sweet, almost sugary oaky flavor with dried plums and figs, cognac, PX sherry. Slightly alcoholic, but complex and delicious.
