2005 bottle. Dark brown color. Pedro Ximenez sherry, salty notes, maple syrupand a hint of oak in the aroma. Sweet, almost sugary oaky flavor with dried plums and figs, cognac, PX sherry. Slightly alcoholic, but complex and delicious.

750 shared by Irishboy - thanks for this and so many others! Pours dirty dark brown with no head. Aroma is prune backed by brown sugar. Med body. Flavor is dark fruit, brown sugar, bourbon, oak, and it’snot at all sticky sweet. Arguably a bit oxidized. Or not. Develops pluminess in the finish.

Bottle at RBWG 2013, huge thanks to Matt! Pours hazy brown with a small, beige foam head. Rich malty aroma, oxidized malts, caramel and toffee, brown sugar. Big sweet flavor, deep brown sugar and toffee, raisins, some light earthy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Rich, sweet finish, lots of dark sugar, raisins, brown sugar, dark fruits, some honey. Has aged very well. Loads of depth.

2005 bottle. Cloudy red - brown beer. Small frothy cream - tan head. Some oxidised malt on the nose. Softish palate, slightly dry. Creamy malt, smooth. Not unpleasant sherry like oxidisation. Milk chocolate. Soft vanilla. Prune fruits in the undertone. Semi soft finish. Clearly an aged beer, but a very good one!

Bottle pulled from the ancient fridge shelves of ygtbsm94, thanks! Clear light brown color, small beige head. Aroma of vinous summer fruit and Benedictine. Taste is sweet caramel, liqueur. Very nice, and has held up amazingly well.

Big thanks to jw77 for sharing this one. It pours big hazy brown with copper hues and thin tan head. The aroma is amazing with rich smooth musty creamy dark fruitiness of prunes, sugar stewed raisins, figs, brown sugar, ripe plums, some earthiness and chewy aged malts in the background. I think I could just smell this all night. The taste is smooth blended sweetness punctuated by near creamy dark fruitiness like prunes, stewed raisins, plums, figs and dates. Midway the barrel notes well up and bring addition complex smoothness from a modest amount of oak and vanilla. This is just plain yum. Wow!
