(Volkstrauertag, 19.11.2023.)

Vom Fass: Copper coloured, not completely clear, medium-sized off-white stable and creamy head, moderate sweet-bitter caramelly-malty nose with a distinctive hoppy backbone; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, just medium bodied, soft; lingering caramelly-malty AND hoppy-bitter finish. Well balanced, easy-drinking franconian Bock…

Bottle, bought at the brewery. Label says brewed by Göller in Zeil am Main. Is this tiny brewery with the big beer garden still brewing? Does it only brew a bit of tap beer for its own premises (see rating Ohmper)? Malty aroma, with peach and a hint of boiled milk. Malty flavor: clearly hopbitter with hay and vanilla. Rather thin, especially for a Franconian pilsener. Hopbitter and hay aftertaste.

Bought at the brewery. Label says brewed by Göller in Zeil am Main. Dark brown color. Malt and caramel aroma and flavor. Sweet with chichory and leak. Bitter aftertaste, but hardly hop-related. Not my favorite dunkel.
