Description
Black Acre Brewing Co. is a small batch brewery located in Irvington, Indiana. The idea for Black Acre initially was conceived in 2010 due to our love of brewing, great beer, and the beer community at large. We created Black Acre with the goal of contributing delicious and unique beers to the community in which we live.

We hand craft our ales using a custom fabricated 3 barrel electric brewing system. Distribution is limited through our in house tap room sales, where both pints and growlers are available.

Visit the Black Acre Garden, Irvington's newest outdoor drinking space located at 5529 Bonna Avenue. The family and dog friendly Garden features a variety of Black Acre beers on tap with plenty of seating on the new deck, and guests invited to carry or order in food.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Medium golden pour, clear, small tight foamy head. Aroma and test taste reflect the maltygrain bill of the beer, bitter bite from the Hops coming in at the tail end. Crisp and clean. Lingering bitterness.

Can @ home shared with Joes. A bit unclear dark orange color, average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste wheat, sweetish, ginger, herbal / spices a bit. Oh well. Drinkable.

16 oz can from Tavour. Near black pour, thick beige head, which fades to ring. Aroma leans on the chai spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, roasty malts. Taste brings the lacto sweetness and silkiness, more of the chai spice. Nice and savory, creamy feel.

Draft at Craft House, Chesterton, IN. Coppery reddish body, medium tight cream head. Aroma of light tropical fruit and catty hops. Chewy body, sweet, with tropical fruit (papaya), tangerine, and hints of alcohol, perhaps a touch of diacetyl too. Not bad.

Keg at Brewdog Reading. Deep gold to orange with a middling white head and light fizz. Pine and marmalade with some mango in the background. A hint of caramel balances it well. Moderate bitterness. Decent IPA, enjoyed this. Good music on here today, which always helps!

Keg at BD Flagship. This version is 9.8%. It pours jet black with a sexy thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, sweet, gooey chocolate cake, coffee grounds, mocha, dark fruits, plum, rocky road and toffee crisp. The taste is slick, bitter - sweet, chocolate torte, boozy alcohol warmth, coffee, mocha, chocolate syrup, burnt toast, chocolate ice cream, touch of charcoal and peppery spice with a warming finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Rich, flavourful and indulgent. A rather pleasant impy stout.
