Bottle from Drankenspeciaalzaak Jelle, Leeuwarden. Big cocoa aroma with powdery artificial chocolate, some coconut and caramel, a touch of tiramisu. Flavour is sweet with a modest roasty bitterness. Body is medium, feels a bit thin for the aroma. Liquid candy bar, very artificial, I'm gonna go ahead and label this a (sort of) guilty pleasure. As intended, I suppose.

Bottle from Lekkerbier, St. Nicolaasga. Aroma is sweetish malt with caramel, overripe fruits, marmalade, honey, candied orange, and resin. Not very fresh/hoppy. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. I'd like to try this from draft to see if it's more fruity hoppy, the appearance from draft certainly differs from the (darker looking) bottled version.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a near clear amber with a slight brown hue and an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of rye, with some pine, citrus rind and a light bread supporting. Flavor starts with pine and some earthy citrus with light rye and bread backing.

12 ounce can from Jim's Foodmart, 7.16.20. Clear red thin fizzy tan head fair retention. Aroma of toffee caramel cherry. Taste is cherry and caramel. Thin, high carb. Not great but better than expensive.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 10/2019. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow/light green color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp to drink with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Feels like Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a great clean pale malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example. One of the best low carb beers I've had for sure.
