Shared with Erzengel! A slightly hazy amber beer with a big off white head. Aroma of peated malt, whiskey, amber malt. Taste of strong peated malt, whiskey barrel, strong amber malt.

Many thanks to Holger for this bottle. Intense peated in the nose. The beer starts intense peated, subtle hints of whisky with a very neutral malty back. The whisky is in the foreground, the beer a bit weak - but this doesn't matter here - the whisky helps the aroma to be full and intense. Long peated whisky finish, very fruity and smooth, hints of malty sweetness in the back. Nice.

Huge thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that bottle! Unusual format, but looks really good. Beer in the glass brownish, nice head. Very intense smokey whiskey aroma. First sip is horrible. What a load of smokey, earthy, whiskey notes, quite unbalanced. I thought I could not finish this beer. But it gets better and better with every further sip. More balanced, warming malty, still quite alcoholic and a lot of intense smokey whiskey notes. I finally finished the beer and, yes, I enjoyed it!

Bottle. Dark brown color. Pours a huge head. Caramel and a hint of roast in the bready aroma. Roasty caramelly flavor. Sweetish, pleasant.

Unusual 0,5 l bottle directly from the brewery. Unclear amber in the glass with a nearly two finger pale beige frothy head. Looks really good. Intensive barrel wood smell with peat. Taste starts with a lot of peat, increasing malt and whisky. Getting smooth with sweet caramel and some fruity sweetness in the background. Not as alcoholic as expected. Positive surprise of the night.

Unusual 0,5 l bottle purchased directly from the brewer. Unclear copper in the glass, small fast fading of white head. Malty fruity smell with some old barrel wood. Taste starts alcoholic, medical with some bitterness. Low pale malty and caramell in the background, some fruity sweetness. Boozy aftertaste. No easy drinkin´ stuff. Still a problem of most Helle Bocks.

Very big thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts strong and quite alcoholic. Some woody notes, light soapy. More and more balanced, still strong and woody, still alcoholic, but more balanced. Finish warming-alcoholic. Beginning was strange, finish much better.

Huge thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine malty-fruity, some notes of apricot, mild sweetness. Finish more dry, shy hoppy. Well balanced. Not bad.

Flasche: Clear, deep golden to light amber coloured, smaller and stable off-white head; moderate sweetish malty-nutty nose with a herbal hoppy background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied and a bit fizzy; lingering nutty-herbal finish. Well balanced, well drinkable...

(bottle, 33cl) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a fluffy off-white foamy head. Slightly biscuity malty aroma with caramel, subtle fruity and mineralic notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dry-ish malty taste with notes of biscuitys, caramel and herbal hoppy spice; the hops get slightly fruity towards the sweet-bitter and rounded cara-malty finish. 31.VII.18
