Bottle. Eh, it might have been the Carib I had earlier, but this beer just didn’t do it for me at all. Odd assortment of malts and a hoppy flavor I just couldn’t pin down.

Cyprus @ All about beer. Rich amber color. Dominating malt aroma. Sweet maly and caramel taste. Great aftertaste. Very good!

Bottle. Fruitcake malt aroma. Reddish amber color with small head. Lightly sweet fruity flavor up front with moderate nutty maltiness coming out later. Pleasant tasting.

Can pours with carbontion to the bottom of the glass; it slowly rises and settles into a thick yellowish head over a copper-orange body; nose was malty with fruity notes; flavor of malts, caramel, and a bitter hoppiness.

Cask @ Bishop’s Arms, Malmö. Pours an amber colour with a small off-white head. Malty fruity aroma. Sweet malty and fruity flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a sweet malty finish with some bitterness.

Dark clear brown ale, translucent, with a thin lacing white head. Sweet caramel, like raw sugar, and vinous notes, with figs. Some nutty notes also develop later.In mouth, a pleasant candy sugar beacons your attentiom, with notes of maple, nuts, and brown sugar. Very nice and rich bodied. A good beer. Shared with Negrido and Panzerfaust. 1800P (happy hour) at Bluebird, Santiago.

Imaging my excitment when I, much to my surprise, found a fairly good range of british bottle ales at a bar in Platanias, Crete. The bar was Chalaraa and the beers were not in the menu. I found them when I asked for a look in the refrigerator. I picked the bottle conditioned Hen’s Tooth (BB. 28.02.07) and came back for another one the next day. Light mahogany in colour, beige foam with lots of bubbles. Hoppy aroma. Sweet taste of dark caramel. Lasting malty and bitter finish (31.05.2006).

500ml bottle. Crystal clear brown colour. Dark malty sweetness to the nose. Dry texture and malty character. Sharp caramel taste and slight hoppy bitterness in the finish. A bit metallic impression (Oslo,23.05.2006).

[Cask at Cockney Pub, Århus] A clear amber beer with a small orange head. The aroma has notes of yeast, malt, and nuts. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and nuts, leading to a nice slightly bitter end. Very easily drinkable.
