Aroma had toasted malt, subtle caramel and grassy hints. Over the palate came toasted malt, subtle caramel, floral and grassy hops. Finished dry and bitter.

Fläschla: Deep golden, a bit unclear, creamy and stable off-white head, mild to moderate bitter-sweet aroma of grainy malt, honey drops underneath, and herbal hops; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied, but at least soft; shorter grainy and bitter finish. A clean brew, all in all quite weak by Franconian standards...

Becher Bräu Stadtbier, Flasche von Keil, BT. - Kupfergold, schwach trüb; üppiger Schaum. - In der Nase sattes brotig-karamelliges Malz, Honig und fast schon klebrige Süße, eher bock- als märzentypisch, aber auch frische herbale Hopfung. - Antrunk satt und sirupartig süß hellmalzig mit Karamel, Sahnebonbon, Honig, süßer Zitrone aber zu wenig Hopfen, um dieser Malzfülle standzuhalten. Milder rezent, vollmundig, leicht schnapsig. Im Abgang nachhallende Malzsüße und nur blasse Hopfenherbe. - Leicht unrundes, zu süßes und - zumal für ein fränkisches - zu knapp gehopftes Märzen, dennoch süffig. (15.11.2022.)

Das Helle vom Becher, vom Faß in der urigen Brauereigaststätte in Bayreuth (nach einem Besuch der Eremitage). - Dunkles Goldgelb, klar. - Antrunk schlank an der Grenze zum Dünnen, sauber hellmalzig und zart karamellig. Milde aber nicht schwache fränkisch-herbale und orangenfruchtige Hopfung. Zart mineralisch. Im Abgang recht leichte Hopfenherbe. - Schlankes fränkisches Helles, nicht übel. (25.9.2022.)

Fläschla: Deep, deep ruby-amber coloured (!), medium-sized stable off-white head, dryish dark-malty to toasty nose with fruity spots, quite mild bitter background; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, medium bodied; lingering bitter-sweet toasty-fruity finish. Very unusual, unexpected Zwickel. Not bad…

Bottle picked up from Hier Gibt's Bier webshop Eckersdorf Franconia Bayern and consumed at home Sunday 6th March 2022 listening to Warmduscher - This Tainted Lunch and cooking a Lamb Tagine and also Pastitsio. Pours copper colour with a white head, good clarity. Quite sweet from the off, super soft carbonation, it's okay but no world beater, a tad sweet and one dimensional.
