Description
In 1861 the 25-years old Heinrich Schneider decided to found a brewery on the “Grün’schen Hof” in Hachenburg. The Hachenburger brewery soon became the most important family brewery within the region. With business leader and co-owner Jens Geimer the family-owned company has reached the fifth generation and is still entirely independent.
Key to the success is that the beer is consistently cooled, the precious beer has achieved its special aroma over and over again for 150 years. What was true then is still true today: the long and cold ageing process is a fundamental requirement for a real Hachenburger as well as the use of high-grade raw materials. As well as the natural spring water from the Rothbach valley

330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fresh. citrusy fruity aroma, notes of lemon, lemon juice.Taste is initially citrusy fruity, notes of lemon, lemon juice, later slightly sugary sweet; sadly the sweetness takes a slightly artificial touch in the finish. Not the worst Radler and much better than the "regular" version.

Many thanks to WillemsUrenkel for this bottle. Moderate bitter with a nice fresh fruity body. The hops are present and nice bitter with piney hints. Very crisp and dry, nice bittered with grainy parts. A nice typical German Pils. Sessionable and round.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of honey, caramel and toffee, a touch of nougat, some roast, fruity hoppy overtones with a touch of green apple. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately and minimally roasty dark malty, hints of chocolate, honey, a touch of burnt coffee, burnt caramel, roasted nuts, fruity hoppy overtones with hints of green apple, green apple parings, a slightly warming, alcoholic touch accompanies the lingering, sweet-ish, honey-induced, chocolately and slightly sticky finish. Oily texture, smooth and soft palate, gentle carbonation. Quite a bunch of roasty and sweet dark malty flavours have a nice interplay here.

0,33 l bottle out of a 4-pack from Dehlwisch, Lohne/Oldb. Pours out a little bit unclear golden, nearly two finger head. Surprisingly floral hopy smell. Taste starts floral hopy, little bit citrus. Increasing grain and malt with some bitterness in the second part. Thins out to the end. Above averge carbonation. Beside the marketing gag, it´s a nice brew.

Big thanks to WillemsUrenkel for this one! Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Hoppy and dry aroma. Starts fine hoppy, dry, modest bitter. Light metallically hints, not too intense. Some fruity hints of lemon. Finish bitter-dry. Nice one!
