Description
In 1861 the 25-years old Heinrich Schneider decided to found a brewery on the “Grün’schen Hof” in Hachenburg. The Hachenburger brewery soon became the most important family brewery within the region. With business leader and co-owner Jens Geimer the family-owned company has reached the fifth generation and is still entirely independent.
Key to the success is that the beer is consistently cooled, the precious beer has achieved its special aroma over and over again for 150 years. What was true then is still true today: the long and cold ageing process is a fundamental requirement for a real Hachenburger as well as the use of high-grade raw materials. As well as the natural spring water from the Rothbach valley

Bottle, 75cl. A dense, finger-thick light beige head forms over an unclear orange-golden body with lots of floaties. The aroma is weak for a 12% ABV beer, with fruityness, some sweet maltyness and alcohol. It’s warming and full-bodied with a soft carbonation level. Rather sweet, with fruityness and bitterness to deal with it. Alcohol, resins, orange peel and bitterness. Rather warming this one, a bit too warming I think, but quite nice anyway. 150228

750ml bottle. Opaque, orangey golden colour with huge, thick, creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Some typical wheat beer aroma aspects, i.e. banana and clove, additionally a bready touch, cautious hints of apricot, banana milk shake. Taste is peppery spicy yeasty, a cautious touch of apricot, banana mush basis; mushy texture. Overall quite disappointing - could apply as candidate for another "200€ Overprized Shit Session" (already 10% of the budget expended).
